My xb9s has the black wheel bearings on it, will HD replace the bearings still or is the time up? and do i have to pay for the labor to put them in or is this covered too by the recall?

There was no recall on the bearings, just an upgrade. I'm thinking the labor ought to be grattis still. : )

Dredging up an old thread here, but. . .

My 2003 just had a bad rear bearing failure. I mean, it pretty much disintegrated. After researching it here, I found the service bulletin regarding the black bearings. I called Buell customer service to see about replacing them. They said that the service bulletin expired after one year, and I'd have to pay for everything myself.

Apparently the bearings heal themselves after one year and are no longer defective or something.
