Hey fellas, I have a problem. I have a exhaust header that has an O-2 sensor in it, but since my bike is not fuel injected, I dont need it. What is the proper size, threads, and what should i use to seal it? I had a threaded plug in it, but it was standard. had some muffler weld on it, but it got loose and blew off. I put about 300 miles on it until it blew. Please help me, I got the header for cheap, just need to plug up the sensor hole. thanks fellas.

See if someone has a used O2 sensor that they might send ya for free and plug the hole with it. Cut the wire or just route it up to a destination unseen and give people something to ponder (A FI M2??!!)

Good idea Dave, thanks alot. I was pretty pissed last nite and was not thinking straight. I had to trailer the damn thing up here to college in the snow and sleet, and i only had two nice days to ride it. Today is nice as well, unfortunately I have to have it ready buy this weekend. Will attempt to give her a go though. thanks Brian.

If you still have that plug, or buy another one, I'd suggest safety wiring it. That will keep it in place.

Why not just get a brand new O2 sensor and install a gauge so you can see if your bike is running rich or lean while riding?

BTW,
You don't need a delaer for the O2 sensor. Just go to your local Auto Zone and get a Bosch 12014 sensor. It will bolt right up!!

If you want a plug, the '99 M2 for Europe had an X1 header fitted with one.
It is listed in the numbers in the parts book, but no picture of the plug is shown.

I just went to my local automotive exhaust shop and they had a plug just for blocking an O2 sensor hole. It has been working great for 5000 miles.

beware of a screw or bolt with too big of a head! it can make installation difficult as the head of the bolt can hang up on the starter when you try to bolt the header up!

Stingaroo,
I've got a few used ones of unknown working condition sitting here at the store, you're welcome to one of them for the cost of shipping. Sometimes our core returns on our header ceramic coating program come back with one installed. If they don't look tweaked, I save them, so I have some just sitting here. But I don't test them electrically, so I can't certify them as good.

See http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/3842/16109.html?1119198783 for why you might want to buy a new O2 Sensor instead (per Buelliedan's suggestion)
