I want to wrap the headers on my XB9S. How much do I need and what size? | ||

About 40 feet of the two inch wide handled my Cyclone headers. Not sure it comes any shorter than a 50' roll unless you find a place that handles it in bulk. | ||

I also overlapped 1" instead of the recommended 1/4" in order to obtain full double layer coverage. | ||

I know that stainless zip ties are usually used to secure the tape but, is there anything else that might work like screw clamps? | ||

Stainless hose clamps work well. Just be aware that your wrap acts like a moisture trap around the pipes and UV rays will tear it up fairly quickly. | ||

Thanks, I'll try the clamps... I'll be using the silicone spray which protects the wrap (supposedly)so, we'll see.... | ||

I tried those stupid stainless zip ties. Could not get them tight enough no matter what I did. Wasted 40 minutes on those things. The stainless hose clamps worked very well! You from Jersey? I'm from Jersey, What exit? 91 here  | ||

Anyone ever wrap a Force or similar type pipe? I did it on mine, using the hoseclamps and safety wire and it turned out really nice, but after about 1000 miles I noticed the front head pipe showing some wear. I poked a "dentists" screwdriver in there and it went right through. Turned out my pipe had cracked completely through, all the way around. Was just wondering if anyone else had this problem with wrapping thin wall pipes... |
