Does anyone know how Penske Hypercoil springs are rated. I have one with 400 and 7 stamped on it in white numbers, and I believe that the 7 is the number of inches long it is. I can guess that the 400 is the number of pounds/inch it is rated at, but I don't know that. The Penske web site is no help to me, but maybe I am not looking in the right place. Most shock springs I have had in the past have been in Kg/mm. Does any one have a conversion table handy that could be helpful, if in fact the 400 is in lbs/in? I can figure it out, but a chart would be nice too. Assuming that it is 400 lbs/in: 181.81 Kg = 400 lbs. 25.4 mm = 1" So, 400 lbs./inch = 7.16 Kg/mm Correct? Jimidan | ||

Jim; your math looks right to me. What bike is that spring for? I have a 700 lbs/inch spring on my S2. I originally had a 650 lbs/inch spring in there, but felt I needed a bit more spring for 2-up w/ luggage.
