I just took off my headlight to get to the turn signals and noticed there was a place for a bulb in between the high/low beams. No bulb is there now. What is it?

Wow sorry. Its an 04 XB12S. From other sites I have figured out its a city light and they use them in Europe. Takes a 194 bulb. I am going to buy one and give it a shot.

does anyone have a picture of the bulb in their bike and working? so is it just on all the time? it looks like it would make the Highbeam lamp glow a little kinda like the BMW car headlamps with just the parking lights

I put one in and when the lights are on, you cannot tell that it's working. You can only see it when the parking lamp is on.

I'd take a pic, but it's pretty much damn near impossible to do so. I put the bulb in there to have something in the plug, as I tend to ride in a lot of rain and crappy weather.

You can get the euro bulb to fit at your local auto parts store. My local Pep Boys had one. It won't draw a lot of power either.

You can see the light when it is on alone, but not when either the low or the high beam is on, they just overwhelm it.

I used it once when I was in a big walmart parking lot during prime "DUI Time" and my parking place was in a fairly dark area. My thought was that it might keep somebody from whipping into the parking place my bike was in and clobbering it without seeing it.

The effect was not what I hoped. For the next 10 minutes as I was getting whatever I was trying to get I kept hearing over the PA:

quote:

There is a blue motorcycle in the parking lot with it's headlights on..
