The stock rear fender on the S1 is pretty ugly. Has anybody ever cut one down to be a small fender like the aftermarket one? Is this possible? Or does it leave a lot of rough edges? |

If you have a "stock" rear S1 fender complete with the license plate holder PLEASE offer it up for trade to someone on the site here for an already trimmed inner fender. The stock ones, unmolested, are starting to get far and few between. Apart from that I used a set of curved tin snips on a c/f air filter cover to good effect. YMMV

It'll cut clean with a dremel and a zizz wheel (those carbide impregnated cloth wheels). Wear a dust mask. The dust won't kill you, but it won't do you any favors either, and it will give you a raging sore throat. After you cut it, take a black sharpie and color the cut edge. That said, it is hard to get a good look from cutting those S1 fenders. The shape change to the rear makes it so that you either cut it too far forward to look right, or you cut it so far back that it has a strange look to it. I've run my S1W for years with a cut one, but am going to change it soon. Also, the stocker is way heavy, and the CF isn't all that great anyway. Al |

I will offer it up for trade or sale. Good idea. I have a few other original parts in perfect shape too. |

cutting CF produces some really nasty dust and stuff -- rarity of the origional piece asisde (you seem to have been sold on trading the piece, which is good), be very carful when cutting grinding this stuff -- really, I mena REALLY nasty fer your lungs It is better to be shot from a gun than squeezed from a tube -- HSThompson

What is the stock fender worth do you think? As soon as I get my camera back I am going to list it. Thank you all for your advice and assistance! |
