I've tried emailing you twice now, but they keep getting sent back as undeliverable.
I just had an email from Jim at Aerocharger saying that they are still in business. They had a dispute with the patent owner and had to litigate to resolve. He said "Oil will be flowing soon."

I've had no problems getting in touch with Aerocharger(Jim).We just finished 2 different setups,and when I needed anything I just left word on their answering machine and got a call back within 8 hrs.Jim has been spending time in Texas(Aerodyene I think developeing some car stuff)

Aerocharger-BACK FROM THE DEAD- YEA HA!!
It will be a couple of weeks before they can take my turbo for a rebuild. I talked to Jim.
No explanation of what happened though.

I read an artical from The Mototune Man, about making the intake and exhaust ports smaller for more power. Ask Wes what he thinks or have him reply on his thoughts. From an experts point of view, someone we trust. Maybe he could try this out if he hasn't already.

So has anyone successfully done an 88"-99" motor in a buell? EFI? I am thinking 88" with nitrous and higher flow injectors maybe 99" but I am unsure of fitment in the frame, motor mounts etc. 99X-1.

If you're going to do a big bore motor why not switch to a carb. Proven tech, cheap, easy to fiddle with or upgrade. Buells EFI is not very friendly when it comes to fiddling.

why switch to a carb if EFI will work? No altitude adjustments no need to fiddle once its dialed in.

I am certain I have never told anyone to switch to a carb from EFI, I would probably call you crazy for trying a carb to EFI switch however, seems like a major pain in the butt to try that swap for ? gain.

It looks like no one has tried this efi big bore stuff before and that scares me a bit but Im gonna commit and give it a whole hearted try. Here's the deal, Nallin stage 3 heads, Millenium 88 inch cylinders, total seal rings, Force big bore pipe, bergolami 50 mm efi mod (they port the manifold too), race ecm, gutted stock air box, accel coil, S&S billet oil pump. That's where Im gonna start. I have a power commander also but I'd like to see what happens without it first. The race ecm should adjust to achieve the proper a\f ratio right? In theory this should work fine. No? Here is my reasoning for not switching to a carb, The bergolami mod is 275 plus shipping. The carb conversion would run over a grand then I'd need some dyno time to boot. If I do things as Ive proposed and I wind up needing the power commander I would still be ahead on $ even if it took 3 or 400 bucks of dyno time. The 88 inch kit and bergolami mod are scheduled to happen within the next few months so stay tuned and be prepared to learn from my experience (mistakes). Bucky

cams&turbos whats a good mix?
I'm configuring the vr1203t,thinking about cam profiles. I'm thinking a stock,small overlap cam would get me a good static compression ratio(good low end torque) I'm not worring about cylinder filling @high RPM,you know, turbo's do that! I looked at the different profiles and there is no middle ground,you have VERY conservative stock cams(I do need good lift) and wild aftermarket cams.

Pro Thunder bikes and that XB racing in...I believe 750 Superstock...are the only ones I know of running big bores/high hp with injection. They used a bigger injector, too. I'd think the stocker would have a hard time delivering enough fuel.

I have put stock Sportster "D" grind cams in mine, but I "think" I remember John Sachs saying that he had some special ones made with higher lift and no overlap.
On another note, I think I'm going to have to ask someone if they can buy some oil for me. I was having a good run getting replies from Aerocharger again, but in the last month or more it's stopped.
I need some oil for the turbo please. Any ideas?

The CM580 cams are low overlap (24 degrees) with moderate lift (0.580" ). Eighty FT*LB of torque at 3,000 rpm out of a 1250cc Buell pretty much tells the story. Seems like they would be perfect for a turbo setup. Nallin Racing carries them. :)

Peter ,I'll get some oil for you .Blake,Peter the stock Sportster(D) cams overlap are 4 degrees with .458" of lift, thats not alot lift. Maybe Blake's cm580's would be a good compromise, however I'd like to see less overlap.

Peter - I have spare oil as well. One of those little bottles should be good for around 10,000 miles, right? Has the S1 been out running wild this winter? What is your intercooler looking like these days, does it have a scoop on it?

Here's a question for you. I have a Buell M2 racebike. I would like to run the 3-13/16 bore cylinders during the off season and revert to standard cylinders during the season. Is this possible? Since the cases have to be bored for the larger cylinders, is there a sleeve or something I could buy or make that would allow me to use stock cylinders again? I realize I could buy an additional case, but I am not made of money. Maybe I could weld a set of rings to the outside of the cylinder that extends down into the case. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hey guys im looking for the next step in engine performance. What would be the best upgrades for the lowest dollar amount? Im trying to sneek this in with my tax refund so i cant go nutz or ill be hearing about it for the rest of my life why didnt you buy a new couch or paint the house and you dont need to go faster you will shoot your eye out with that thing an so on an so on! Im looking to spend at most $1500.00 dollars or less.Right now im running a full race exaust system from d&d, buell race ecm, and buell race air filter.

Sandmanx1 you could get a 1250 big bore kit and some cams.But I would rather go nallin stage 3 heads and cams and put away a few bucks later and then do pistons and cylinders later.

Suggest Nallin Stage 2 heads, CM580 or SE536 cams, Nallin Huricane 10.5:1 pistons. Keep your stock cylinders but have them high quality overbored by Nallin Racing. Total should come to around $1,500 and you will have close to 100 rwhp.

The CM580 cams will give you bigger low end. The SE536 cams have more overlap for more peak HP at top end.

Oops, almost forgot, gasket sets, adjustable pushrods, pushrod covers.

You might want to save the cam upgrade for later.

You absolutely do not want to be welding on the cylinder. Aluminum loves to deform and lose temper when welded. Suggest you keep the same size cylinders for street and race duty. What is your reasoning for wanting to use stock bore cylinders on the street? Why not just go with the lower compression pistons?

I run the Nallin 10.5:1 1250 kit street and track on pump gas with a 7K rpm rev limit. Sure keeps things simple.

Sounds good one more quicky which of these setups would be best as far as the life of the motor and reliability? I have a bad habit of running very hard when im alone and dont want to trash it i need to get a few years out of this bike before i can afford to go all out crazy.

How about boring the cases for 3-13/16 cylinders, but cutting a counterbore that would accept a sleeve with a shoulder if I wanted to switch back to stock cylinders? Also, anyone know the stock bore in the case and the larger bore sizes? That would tell me the wall thickness of the insert I would have to make.

Yes, Blake, I know you think I am nuts, but it is winter here and I have nothing better to do than contemplate wild mods to my bike(s).

L.A. Sleeve or Axtell could supply you with about any spec sleeve you might want. I can't figure why you would want to switch back to stock size pistons once the cases have been bored though.
Over 100 reliable HP is available from stock displacement Buell.
