How should i adjust my clutch cable to prevent it from breaking the case screw again?

Not sure what the "case screw" is.

Is it the threaded shank on the end of the clutch cable that screws into the primary cover?

If so, that is aluminum, very fragile, and has a very low torque spec on it. Additionally, it is screwed into an easily stripped threaded hole in the primary cover.

The "secret" is to not overtighten it.

That shank should have an O-ring for sealing and I screw it in until I think the O-ring a clamped down tight enough to get a good seal. No more than that. The curve in the cable sheath will keep that from rotating and back itself out.

Another "secret" is to take the cable free from the hand actuator (lever) post before trying to screw it into the primary case, because it is difficult to get the fine threaded screw to start straight with it still connected. The result is that it is easy to cross thread while it is still connected. Don't ask me how I know this!

The "IDEA" is to tighten just enough to
crush the "O" RING and go no tighter ...

TORQUE SPECS. are 3-5 ft-lbs ...

REMEMBER THIS: YOU MUST DEVELOPE A FEEL
WHEN TIGHTENING BECAUSE THE TORQUE SPECS.
COULD BE WRONG OR TOO TIGHT ON THE HIGH
SIDE OF THE SPEC.

yes that is what i was talking about. I just replaced the cable a two weeks ago because the cable snapped at the lever. I guess that's what i did (tighten the screw too much)
