A couple of day ago someone backed into and knocked over my M2. At least they left a note with a real name and phone number and are ready to make good on the repairs. This looks like a good opportunity to change to a different bar. I've been wanting to switch to a bar with about half the rise and pull back as the stock 2002 M2 bar. At my usual 75-80 commute speed, I'm pulling myself forward but don't want to go too low on the riding position.

Anyone have suggestions for the bar or at least some dimensions for rise, pull back and width measurements on the stock bar for reference (mine are too tweaked to measure)?

Thanks,
Andrew

google on flanders bars -- also, go to a dirtbike store and scope out the offerings -- lots of choices -- be aware, with the 5-gallon manta tank, your choices become more limited to avoid the bars hitting the tank at full lock

one of the most commonly overlooked dimensions is the center dimention -- many bars out there are wider than the 5 needed on your MaDeuce, which will cause many bars to hit said tank

I've run a couple of dirtbike bars that lowered and moved the grips forward a bit -- suits me to a tee, but this is a very individual thing

have fun --

I never could find the right bend to clear everything and still be comfortable. I wound up going to billet Crossroads on my M2, but even these needed lots of tweaking before I was satisfied; they're too wide (over 31 inches!) and they let the controls hit the tank. I couldn't make a full lock left turn without blowing the horn.

I shortened them 1 1/2 inches on each side (short as they will go) and modified my flyscreen to clear the brake master cylinder. The shortened bars just clear the tank on both sides. They are a good compromise for twisties and highway miles for me, but it is quite a reach for some riders.

I recommend them, but be aware that they may be too wide and there is no easy way to shorten them without modifying the flyscreen or replacing the front brake master cylinder and reservoir. They are also kind of expensive, but the quality is very high.

I'll post a pic when I get a chance.
