I need to ask a couple of stupid questions. I just got my bike out of service yesterday, and the front brake light switch isn't actuating the light. The rear works, so I am guessing that it is the switch. Now the stupid qs.

IS the switch normally open, and closes when you depress the circuit, or does it use a relay, and open the circuit? Since there are 2 lights on the same circuit, I am not sure, and do not have the schematic.

Is it a plug in installation? The reason I am asking this is that the bike fell over in a parking lot, and now has asphalt embedded where the allen head goes to loosen the bar ends. Meaning it may be tough to get the grip off. TIA.

I had something similar happen after a tune up. The service tech tightened the screw that holds the switch in place. This screw needs to be backed out about 1 1/2 turns to allow the switch to travel open and and closed. Once I got the screw backed out the switch worked properly.

Does anyone know where this screw is?

I am assuming this might be the problem I am having since the brake light is working for the rear but not the front.
