No really though? what kind of bulb is in my 03 xb9 lightning brake light? does any autopart store carry them? I have no brake light.

took it apart and it looks like a standard light in a car. It works now but the connection is bad. im going to have to figure something out.

Oh, my, Duane -- you are either truly brave, follish, or both ;-}

if IT a standrd bulb, as you've found out -- sometimes, the contacts on the bulbs wear down (they're pretty soft) and sometimes the spring thingies that puch the bulb socket conenctors against the buld sack down -- check the buld, and if the contacts are nice and round-like, look worn, try a new bulb -- if that doesn't do it, please make sure the power is off, and see if you can't raise the connectors in the socket a little (doesn't take much at all)

pretty common occurance in taillight sockets, bike and auto, both
