thought my ft pads looked a little low at 7500 miles...was just up at Marcus Dairy and there were at least 6 other xb's there...all had similar ft pads...not much meat on them. i ordered another set online last night but don't want to replace unnecessarily... what are good measurements/ life?

If you have a XB the pads need to be changed if there 0.040 in or less of pad left. But I change mine out way before my pads get that low. Can never be to safe with dealing with brakes. You should also change out the brake fluid at the same time. I change out my fluid twice a year.

Mine were nearly gone at 8000km's.

And retail price in here is solid platinum, will be using other pads next time i have to replace, they wear out just too fast.

This was on 2005 CityX

I've discovered that when ridden aggressively the front pads on an XB don't last much longer than rear tires. I think I only went about 6k miles on the first set. I've since switched to the LRB gold pads, but they don't seem to last much longer, although they do sound cooler. ;)

Yeah rear tyre life is about all I've ever gotten too. Stock Dunlops and a 1/2 worn Pilot Sport ~9,000km.
