Gents, some of you might remember me, some not. My network admin asked me to stay off discusson boards, we dont have a big internet connection here in SA.

Dont know if i am being fed sh1t on this but know the wealth of knowledge here will help.

Riding a 05XB9SX, 8000 km's on the clock. Race kit fitted at 1500km's. Ported air box cover at 1500km's, similar to the 06 model.
She be running like a dream till a week ago.

Took her to a local track here to learn to ride better and 2 hours into the day, the following happens.

Intermitentely, at any rev range she bogs down, only if i climb on the throttle hard, not if i easy on. I have searched and read through countless posting but am still lost.

Took it in to the the local Buell Dealer. AFV was sitting at 85, tech bumped it back to 100, reset TPS and corrected idling.
Said thanks, went to the manager to say "excellent service" climbed on the bike and headed to work, only to find out problem still there.

Took it in three days later for it's 8k service, was told, AFV was back down to 85%, but has been reset to 100%. Climb on my baby and what do you know, still does it.

So, go BACK this morning, moan, same fix, reset AFV from 85% to 100, and am told it's the airbox that i cut up.

Doesnt make sense, she goes like a rocket for 6500kays with a cut airbox, and then in the space of two sessions at a track starts with the bogging issues.

I have read what i could about the Engine temp sensor, O2 sensor, Intake engine sensor, Intake air temp, and am tempted to get the dealer to replace all the above, hell, even if i pay, i just want my bike working like she should.

If any of you guys have info i will be super grateful.

Many thanks
Justin

It might not be related to any of the sensors. There're several things to look at:

1) Verify that the gas tank vents freely.

2) Make sure the spark plug wires are firmly seated at both ends.

3) When it first acts up, do a plug chop and look at the spark plugs with a sharp eye. Look for anything unusual like signs of extreme richness or leanness, melting, that sort of thing.

Find out from other sources what it means when the AFV keeps going to 85%. That's a good clue that something repeatable is probably related to your problem. Maybe call Buell Customer Support. If anybody would know, they would.

OK, so in good spirit and knowledge sharing and all that good stuff, here was the problem.
So we all learn.

The TPS had taken a dive and was telling the ECM every now and then "hey, I am shut, stop the fuel, NOW",
Normally this would happen when I am lane splitting and trying to dodge a overloaded bus, so yeh, not funny.

Anyway, the sparkie who insisted it was my air box with holes could not hide his face far enough but at least had the respect to come and apologize and inform me that "dude, your bike caught me out".
Anyway, she is back, better, and running like a steam train again, so I am as happy as a pig in sh1t.
