This is mainly for Reepicheep and others who may want a less expensive, lighter, and more tuneable muffler then the full Buell system.

I used a race header and mated it to a 2.5", 4" outlet, 17" long automotive Supertrapp. The 'Trapp is extremely tuneable and a few pounds lighter than the Buell race muff...it's also proven to be pretty tough...holding together even after both the header and the header clamp have broken.

Basically, if you leave the stock endcap on and put 10-15 disks on you'll get a nice mellow "blatty" tone and a ton of low end power. That makes for some fun wheelie power. You need 20 disks and up to get just slightly more power and response on the top end, but you'll loose the big low end hit and it'll give you a bigger mid range hit...then a smooth, steady rise in hp to peak power. I don't have the dyno chart scanned, but it gained a couple ft-lbs in the midrange then tapered off later compared to the lesser disks. I don't have a full dyno chart 'cause the operator didn't want to take it to red line . You have to use more clutch to launch it hard, but it will get up to speed a little faster in the upper revs. The loss is about a whopping 10 ft-lbs in the low end. If you put an open end cap on it...well, it opens it right up regardless. Sounds loud and raucous, but not to the extent of drag pipes or an open pipe, and so far I've put as low as 15 disks on with this configuration and still haven't regained my low end hit of the past. I'll have to buy some shorter bolts to experiment any further. Hope that helps!

here's a 12 disk chart:
