Just started out of nowhere. I think the clutch is dragging but I can go from 2nd to 3rd and 4th (if i stomp on it, which I will NOT do anymore). Neutral and first are out of the question. I checked the shifter linkage, no interference with the primary cover. I also adjusted the clutch cable and the clutch, and then changed the tranny fluid. Followed the "Gospel according to Eric" to a T. No change. I forgot to check the primary tension, but I'm really worried that I bent a fork. Any other suggestions?

Is this a 9s (like in your profile) or a tuber?

If it were a tuber, I would be suspecting a broken chain tensioner, or a 5th gear drive assembly.

Early on, when the XB was brand new, somebody had a bolt or something that backed out, and could get to it by pulling the primary cover. Other then that the XB trannies have been pretty solid.

Next step is to take the primary cover off (not a big deal) and see what is under there and what might be wedged in where.

I agree with Bill. Let us know what you find.

Might not hurt to double check your tranny lube level. Try a different "level surface" maybe?
