ive got the older supertrapp IDS pipe and the rear strap is really weak looking, did anyone make a better system? if so, let me know (pics would be cool)
i wanted supertrapp to replace it for the newer one that doesnt fall apart (like they did for everyone else) but the girl from their cust. service was rude and said that they already replaced enough of them and that i was S.O.L....
let me know
thanks

Jason, take a look at my "broken muffler mounts fix" thread about one third the way down in this category and see if this would work for you. You might have to get a larger full circumference clamp but this has really worked for me and also keeps a lot of the header bolt breaking vibration at bay. That has been a constant problem for most of us with tuber Buells. No tab type system is as good as a full clamp system in my opinion. Ride safe, Bob

I totally wasted both front and rear mounts on the supertrapp soon after installing the muffler. For the front, I swapped the header for a Buell race unit, which eliminated the 90 degree turn into the muffler, and used the buell front mount held with 2 muffler clamps (nice T-lock style, not worm gear like radiator hose clamps). This allows for some lateral movement and so far I have not experienced any cracked header bolts, or further mount failures. (10,000 miles)

For the rear mount I copied the Supertrapp style of clamp, but made mine out of 11 guage stainless. The Supertrapp unit was maybe 16 guage mild steel and failed after about 500 miles.
Of coarse I had access to the metal and a slip roll and hyd brake. I imagine you could find a local metal shop or some company to make one for you. It clamps tight to the can and has a through bolt that I line up with the Z shaped rear factory mount.
The Supertrapp is a little longer than the original Buell race can, but is MUCH MUCH better looking.

I'll post some pics when I get a chance

i was very meticulous in mounting it too so it would be cool. nope...
its too bad supertrapps customer service people suck or id call them and see what kind of fix they have...
please post pics of your setup as i cant ride the bike til i fix the rear mount...
thanks
