Hope you are kidding on your trouble shooting efforts so far. It sound like you have some wires pinched/chafing/shorting somewhere. Since you've replaced the bars and possibly re-routed the wires, I would start at that end and work towards the back. (Pretty sure it's not the rear tire.)

had the crossroads on since it was a week old, 9000 miles now.....no issues till now, it was the first time ive ridden it since november, its been in a damp ohio garage, unheated....if thats sheds any insight into the situation.....i am going to search it over tonight for crimped, split, chaffed wires...thanks.....anybody else? i just hate having to go to the dealer...the only good one here in canton, is an hour away....and i am scared to ride it like this....it runs and shifts fine, but it kind of freaks me out.....

I had similar problems with my x1...neutral light going on/off at odd times...soon turned into starting problems....rather than giving my right leg to my local HD shop, I jumped the 2 wires together leading to my clutch...no more problems with this, but No Neutral light anymore....good thing I know where neutral is!!
