Travis (one of the service writers) at Northwest HD/Buell is a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic M2 rider. He is trying to get the management to be more Buell friendly and could use all the encouragement and support we can give him. He has been very helpful to me with my S3T. If you are in Washington, stop by and give him some business.

Just to clarify - Northwest Harley is located in Lacey (Olympia) and the DO NOT carry Buells. Destination Harley/Buell is located in Fife (Tacoma). I believe that is the one you meant, and they are still not as Buell friendly as I think they should be. They like to sell them, but they don't carry any clothing, accessories, etc. Everything has to be ordered. I have been on them to get more Buell swag as that is the shop close to my house and I hang out there regularly. They have a new shop in Graham (South of Puyallup) with Buell support there, but just a few jackets and a couple bikes. Although, that shop is really small.

Hey Terribletim,

We should swap notes! I just bought an 1125R from them recently and get !@#$ for support from these guys on this particular bike! All I keep hearing from the service manager is: "I don't know", and "we don't know" when it comes to ANYTHING about this bike. I'm doing my own servicing on it until more 1125R's are sold there. I prefer to let someone else play "guinea pig", particularly in regard to the safety recall that just came out on the bike for 5th gear galling the clutch shaft. They need to get a few more of these bikes under their belts before they experiment with mine. It needs an ecm reflash too for low speed "surge" between 3500 - 4000 rpm. They didn't know about that either and make it sound like I'm full of !@#$ when I tell them that it's a VERY common problem with pre-April 1125R production bikes everywhere.

As for "swag", I didn't pay much attention to that when I bought the bike there, but, wouldn't it be considerably cheaper to buy that kind of stuff online vs. the dealership anyway?

I've bought quite a few nice things off of ebay in the past month relatively cheap in comparison to the dealership's prices.

You might want to give it a try online???

Stay safe on your Buell.

Tracy

I agree with Terribletim, I bought an S-1 in 97 and when I picked it up it was filthy from being ridden in the rain prior to me picking it up. Then I bought a 06 Uly from DHD and took it to Destitutuion HD in Fife WA. for some warranty work and that ended getting screwed up. They said they took care of some things that they in fact did not because the next day I ended up stranded on my way home from work. then I needed parts and they don't stock any but they can order them and have them in 5-6 days if they have time to call you when they come in. The don't care about the Buell line or Buell riders.

In the old days before "Destination", Dave ran Tacoma H-D. A true enthusiast's mom and pop outfit that he and his wife operated for years, including the changeover to the Evolution machines. Alas, years ago Dave succumbed to an early case of cancer, the dealership was sold, and now we have yet another clueless and useless boutique shop.

I would recommend DHD for parts and service support its worth the trip and they offer free pickup and delivery if within reasonable travel

NWHD has probably the most uptight, narrow minded, egotistical, pretentious, rude people in their employment. I have not been treated this disrespectful since I was shot at in Iraq. Hell, even my enemies treated me better. I might as well have asked the owner for his daughter's virginity. When I walked in, icon jacket, rocket gloves, full face head gear, I was looked at like an interloper. I left without purchasing anything. Several days later I needed an oil filter (don't ask) and showed up there about 5 min before they closed. The sign was on "open", and the doors were open, people were inside. I walked in and was chased down by a woman who told me they were closed. I looked around and said "Your open sign is on, your doors are open, and people are in here." She said "Yes, but thats all a mistake. We're closed and everyone has left for the evening." I turned around and walked to the door. She said "...but we open again at 9am tomorrow." I told her "I will never spend a dime in your store, nor set foot in here ever again, so don't worry about it." and walked. The look on her face was priceless. Looked like I had kicked her cat or something. When I pass there now, I give them a finger, not a thumb. I am driving almost 50 miles to DTHD in south Seattle to get my support. These guys and girls suck.
