Don't have my manual yet. The dealer forgot to give it to me and it's in the mail, but because of the weekend and holiday, I haven't received it yet. It's killing me. I turn the key, pull up, but it's not budging at all. I feel like I am going to bend or break the seat if I pull any harder. Can anyone help me? Man I feel stupid asking this.

You grab the strap and pull toward the rear and up. I would hold the key turned as far as it will go while doing this. Unless the lock is not working the seat should come off.

Ok, so it came off, but I had to muscle it off. I was pulling so hard the bike was being pulled back. It popped off and I almost fell backwards. I checked the machnism and it seems to be working well, but I am thinking the two prongs on the sides are too tight. I take it back in for the 500 mile maint. in a few weeks, I'll have them look at it to be sure.

Thanks!

My seat was very tight the first time I took it off and difficult to put back on. After a while it became much easier. I hope it works out well for you.

My Ss is the same way. It does loosen up marginally after you ride it some and take it on and off a few times but it's still a very tight fit.

yeah they are alittle tight. But id rather have it tight then loose. Im suprised they are having you come in at 500miles. Everyone ive ever seen, including me, go in at 1,000. Could be just wanting more money!!
