Author Message   Silverbullet Posted on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 - 03:33 pm:        I have an 00 x1 with a vancen pipe Screaming eagle breather new plugs and wires, new fuel filter and o2 sensor, and I still have a dead spot. After a short time at a steady rpm when I go to accelerate it will bog down for a moment like it is loading up and then even out and be fine. And usually at start up it will act like it is flooding out and will need to twist the throttle for a bit for it to smooth out.....I'm kinda stumped....   Silverbullet Posted on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 - 03:37 pm:        And some times it smells like its running rich but the plugs don't show a rich burn, they look fine.   99x1 Posted on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 - 06:29 pm:        Did it act up before the new plugs and wires? A weak spark can run the bike, but accelleration takes a slightly stronger spark. The fuel injection uses the TPS (throttle position sensor) to know when the throttle is moved, check the wiring to the TPS? The early X1's also could break the throttle plate stem on the one side - the throttle plate turns but the TPS doesn't. See the X1 files. Replaced it and reset T.P.S. And problem solved......The X1 Files helped lead me to find the solution Thanks.
