I got a Kobe-never heard of them before and gave it a try. Full leather-very heavy, warm even when cold-30's, CE armor and zips to a pair of pants if you wanna go the route. Was on sale at fastlap, but I haven't seen them anywhere else...nice jacket/very happy

Anyone have an opinion about Fox Creek?
http://www.foxcreekleather.com/

I am looking at getting some different leathers because the cheap ones I got at www.leatherup.com are not holding up. Guess you get what you pay for.

I was going to get an Icon Motorhead, or skull jacket. I by chance ended up in a store on Christmas eve or something and got a deal on a Joe Rocket Super Ego that I couldn't pass on. I really like the jacket. I am glad I got it over the Icon but since I've never used an Icon I can't really compare.

The Super Ego has the removable pannels that expose a mesh on the front and back but leave the leather on the arms. There are other jackets that do that too.

I later picked up the Alter Ego pants, and have been happy with those so far.

Sorry can't comment on reliability. Haven't had them that long.

Looks good though!

Hein Gericke has saved me twice. Love it in cold weather. Use Fieldsheer mesh w/armor in hot weather.

I have both a set of Vanson (from the seconds rack) and Dainese (P103) pants, but no jacket from either. I like the feel of both and they are about the same in price. I have been looking for a Dainese jacket, but I haven't found one that I am completely sold on yet. They are a bit too tight with the quilted liner, and too loose without. I do not like the way they fit at the sleeve, and I don't care for how the armor is on the outside of the mesh liner. But by the way the pants feel, I may just have to look at more Dainese jackets then what was at my local shop. I want to check out the Bora. I haven't really looked into the Vanson jackets except the Buell one.

Right now, I am using a Harley jacket that I do not know the model. It is very close fitting, not bulky, soft and has armor. Pretty much, it feels perfect. I haven't been down on it yet, so I can't say how it will hold up, but it seems sturdy.

I love my Firstgear suit, but a couple of years ago Joe Rocket mesh gear saved my life too.

Vanson...expensive, but you don't want a bargain when you're sliding across the asphalt. With that said, I have enjoyed my First Gear leather jacket for about 8K+ miles, but Vanson is what I would call the bar as far as leather jackets go. My jacket has treated me well in cold weather (with a sweater).

I went on a quest to find a jacket that fits - being a woman it's somewhat difficult. I really liked those Icon jackets, but they were waaaayy to tight in the sleeves, and bunched up in the shoulders when I leaned forward on my bike. I ended up buying a MotoGP Jacket - it fits so perfectly! It felt right away like I had had it for years - broken in and breathable...
