yes... I've done it.

Gut the fuel pump. real simple.
purchase a lawn mower on/off fuel switch some fuel line, a 90 degree elbow.
carb manifold
carb/air cleaner bracket
and then you need to change to a regular ignition.

Its not that hard at all. And can be done cheap with a used KV carb or expensive with a new HSR42.

What is the gain by switching to the carb? is the first run of fuel injection that primative?

Is there anywhere to get all the correct parts (ign, coil, petcock, etc) and to tell one the correct ratio of everything?? I have only heard of the major gain of going back to carb on these...supposed to be noticeable!

thanks guys!

I bought my carb, igntion and coil from ebay sellers. best price for new parts.

You do not need a petcock. You need an inline on/off fuel switch just like what is on a Snapper lawn mower. : ) Can be purchased at a lawn mower repair shop. Fuel line can be purchased at a auto parts store.

You'll also need tools. really good allen wrenches, allen sockets (short) to remove the intake manifold. And some good wire crimpers for the igntion.

One more stock HD part you'll need is the from any carbed sportster /buell. The timing cup. which is inside the nose cone.

They offer a complete conversion kit.You have to send them your black box for modification.
