Has anyone heard of a better cooling fan in existence for the XB? I emailed Al from American Sportbike ages ago and he explained to me that a better cooling fan wouldn't necessarily help the bike cool any faster. Of course, I'm not an engineer and this was all over my head anyway, but if the engine is "air-cooled" wouldn't cooling it faster make it perform better? Either a better oil cooler or a more efficient air cooling? I notice the bike performs, shifts, accelerates better in the cool morning air than it does in the hot afternoon. (I'm aware of the fact that shifting and acceleration are controlled by the ecm/efi which are regulated by engine temperature.) So, I thought, what if the cooling fan for the bike was more efficient, cooled the engine better, stronger, faster, like Steve Austin's legs? I saw this site for my Sportster http://www.soetengadesign.com/Turbine%20velocity%20stack.htm and thought, well, couldn't a turbine fan cool the bike faster? Or, for that thought, couldn't that turbine work better as a funneling velocity stack in the airbox of my XB? I watch way too much TV and I've seen the lil' gizmo they use to funnel air in cars for better gas mileage which was my inspiration for this post. Maybe this is junk science or just junk. Any thoughts?

Just get a right side air scoop from Trojan.

Your rear fan will basically not come on again.

Good luck!

Cool morning air is more dense and thus allows significantly more fuel for significantly more power from the engine.

That turbine fan is snake oil gimmickry.

In the future please post topics like this to the applicable topic in the Knowledge Vault. We'll be moving this one there soon. Thanks for helping to get BadWeB organized. : )
