All

while clelaning the scoot yesterday (Y2K M2), I noticed a tiny crack in the V&H can, starting at the forward portion of the front hanger weld, and running outwards for approximately 1/8".

Any chance that this is just the coating cracking, or should I be looking for a new can ASAP?

thanks

Bomber,

I was speaking with someone at the open house that had the same crack. He welded his and is looking at reinforcing the whole front mount with a double sided bracket (similar to the new Supertrapp mount). I'd think you should be able to have the bracket repaired. Otherwise, GET A NEW CAN!!! Why take the chance of getting pole vaulted?

Mennis

PS: Thanks for the catch can!! I installed it on Saturday afternoon with some braided hoses. Looks good. I'll paint or powder coat over the winter.

Mennis . . .that's kinda what I was thinking . . . .. . .ah well, I'll hold off on those Aerostich boots a while longer. . . . . . welding on the muffler was pretty bad, and likely caused a stress riser . . . . .. . I am not inclined to try and repair the thing, as it only seems to buy a little time, and pole vaulting was never my strong suit . . ..

Hal's haad a couple of wilyco cans a month or so back . . . . .I think I'll give em a call . ..

glad ya liked the can, bro. . . .it was good seeing you
