Author Message   Awgrimm Posted on Thursday, August 08, 2002 - 01:26 pm:        New Bueller here looking for some help. I just picked up a 98 S3 with 3,200 miles. It has a Vance and Hines slip-on. As far as I am aware, that is the only modification that has been done to the bike. What else do I need to do? The bike seems to run fine, but will occasionally knock when I take off slowly. Spray them with the bike at a fast idle with WD-40, contact cleaner or such (starting fluid or other highly combustibles are NOT recommended). If your idle drops, that indicates your intake seals are leaking. This affects low end and can cause pinging due to the leaning of the air/fuel charge. It's also never a bad idea to check your static timing. And check that your spark plugs are the newer, cooler 10R12 models which superceded the hotter 6R12's.   Awgrimm Posted on Thursday, August 08, 2002 - 05:07 pm:        Thanks, Blake.
