Well the aft mount on the muffler broke loose but no biggie, just had it welded back. But now my problem is the aft point to which it attaches underneath has come loose. It seems the whole aft upper piece has slid out of where it mounts to the engine where this is a big hole. I love my 97 S-1 so don't get me wrong but what do I got to do to get this exhaust right???

Big Hole??????

Take a pic and post it.

I have a V&H on mine and all I ever do is loosely fit the whole system including the header pipe and tighten it up a little at a time.

Seems to work and I have the exhaust off a few times a year for various things.

Not really a big hole but large enough to have some kind of bushing or rubber like material in it. I am through trying to post pics here. I have sized and resized and optimized but nothing ever works here. How does your muffler mount in the rear to the bike??? I will probably just get some large washers and re-install but was curious if this was one of the recalls or was common on a 97 S-1???
