Plenty of people have done this. It seems that you will lose power on the bottom, lose power in the middle and gain on the top. I feel that some of the loss could be removed with a properly tuned PCIII.

i have a jardine on my 9s. great sound! its been on for about 2000 miles and is getting a little loud. (repack is coming) i have the stock ecm. ran the bike for 20 minutes after i installed it. ran bad for a bit but then cleared up. i think there was a little power loss down low but mid and upper really pull alot harder. you can find it on ebay for $200. shop around!

I also have a jardine on my 03 9s with stock ecm. I bought the bike used with the muffler already on it. I have put 3k on the bike. I love the throaty sound and ten pound weight loss over the stock muffler. Runs fine.

Like the others have stated, I "felt" like I lost a little bottom end, but it felt (and certainly sounds) stronger from midrange on up. I did have a little flat spot at mid range roll-on, but that went away when I put in my race ECM. I really like my setup.
