Bighead,
I was treated well at Eastside in Bellevue, WA. There's also some people on the site here in the Boise area who probably have opinions on their dealership. Maybe post your question in the StormFront Northwest area of the board here.

Anybody have any experience with Glendale(AZ), HD? I think I need to take mine in to a dealer. But I'd feel better if I knew if their Buell guy was any good. Thanks!

No Big deal. But for the record....

Glendale (AZ) hd/Buell does not get a good mark from me. Called them this morning. They informed me that since it is "bike week" here in AZ, there was no way they could possibly fit me in before Friday next week at best. Bike week is big harley time out here, and I can't help but wonder If I'd had a 25K fat boy if they could have found room for me...

Chandler hd/Buell was more than happy to work me in today or tomorrow, but their truck was is in the shop, and so far I haven't had any luck getting a trailer to use so I can get it there.

maybe tomorrow....

anyone in PHX with a trailer?

I live in Glendale (AZ). Don't have a trailer, but will a pick-up do? Need to find something to use as a ramp tho. Unless you or your friends are big and strong.

Thumbs up to Gelndale HD/Buell...

Just wanted to say how helpful (and tollerant!) the guys at Glendale have been. Chris Matty has helped me find parts that I THINK I need ASAP at other dealerships when they didn't have what I needed. Ernie put together a nice deal on a new bike. Everyone there has been friendly, courteous, and helpful. Even a couple of custom shops have mentioned Glendale as the place to go to buy / service a bike. Cool...

I would like to recommend Surdyke Harley Davidson, Buell.Their staff is very courteous and informative. They took my bike in right away even though they where very busy on a saturday afternoon diagnosed and fixed the problem while i looked around at a large selection of goodies. The work was done under warranty no charge no hessitation.Even though i didn't buy the bike from them. You couldn't ask for better service or friendlier people. Now thats what motorcycling is all about

Agreed Brian. Gunny and Mark in service have always gone the extra mile for me as well. They replaced my isolators while I waited and even on the same Saturday I called asking if they had parts.

Mr. Bill,

At my local so cal dealership, they have been 3 week backlogged for weeks, and the mechanics are working overtime. There are obviously "preferred" customers, and guys that need new tires so they can get to work tomorrow that get quicker service, but bike preparations for the Laughlin run hit them every year with a huge workload. I would say that '02 Road King Creme de Supreme or Buell Blast, sorry, you're going to have to wait. Laughlin traffic should be hitting your dealers also. Did you try RAN for a trailer?

Chandler HD was willing to take me right away. Unfortunately, they've had it for a little over a week now, waiting for $2.00 worth of O-rings from Buell for a leaky fuel pump. I was able to get a trailer from a neighbor, and they were able to get it in right away to look at it at least. Glendale (AZ) HD, said they wouldn't even look at it (a Buell) for at least a week. Thanks to all for advice and suggestions.

I recently had some warranty work done at Seaford HD in Delaware. Here's the whole experience:

The problem was a broken bolt in the head (front left motor mount), and the standard-issue rocker box gasket leak. They said they would call when it was fixed. A week later, I called, and it was ready. I later found out that instead of a grade-3 bolt, they put a grade 8 bolt in. Or was it 11?

Within 800 miles, my exhaust pipe broke right where it connects to the muffler. The bolts apparently weren't tightened properly. It's a 45 minute ride to Seaford, and weather wasn't the greatest, so I forked over $15 to the local Meineke to fix it.

About 1000 miles later, the bolt broke again. I called, and was told the soonest I could bring it in would be in 3 weeks. I talked to a manager, who got it in that day. I got a call the next morning, saying it was finished.

When I got there, the left mirror was knocked loose, but a quick twist fixed that. I'll hit it with a wrench later. I reached down to turn on the fuel, and noticed something wasn't quite right. I didn't take the time to look at it just then, as I had other things on my mind.

When I parked my bike, that's when I noticed that the plastic shroud around the intake was noticeably crooked. I didn't have time then to take a good look, but I did today. I originally thought something was bent, but after taking a closer look, I think the person who put it back together was drunk. Not only was the shroud (or whatever it's called) crooked, but the whole gas tank was not on straight! Now, I have to take it apart and put it together again. If I'd known they would do all that, I would have done it myself.

Joey,
I may have been next to you on my Buell at the light on St.Martins Neck Rd. and RT. 90 last week or so.

When given a choice I do my own wrenching rather than take a chance on Seaford or most other dealers. I and others in our area(eastern shore of Maryland) have had success with Ft.Washington and Hannums in PA. Both are about 150mi. away , but you do what you gotta do.

The Buells are subject to exhaust failures unless you take the time to get everything properly aligned and supported. You'll find lots of info in the exhaust section on this board.

Good luck with your Blast.

Ocbueller,
I think I'll post some photos of the problem. I can understand the exhaust thing, as I probably would have found the problem had I looked before it broke.

If you saw me, my jacket and helmet match my black Blast! I don't think it was me, though, as I would have remembered another Buell next to me!

I live in Kansas City and do as much work on my 00 S3T as possible. This is due to the poor quality work I get from Worth or Blue Springs HD/Buell. If you want nothting but poor quality works or lip service these are your people!! For parts call Modesto Buell, they rock!! It is cheaper for me to order instock part overnight from Modesto than it would to travel 180 miles round trip to Topeka HD/Buell, this includes fuel and my time!! Now if there is something that I need the dealer to do Topeka Buell is my choice!! I just today found a part that Modesto did not have, but I still ordered it because they are first rate!!

Thunder,
I had my first service done at Worth in Gladstone. Later, I noticed the spacer that's put in for quick adjustment of the primary chain was still there. Makes me wonder if they did anything besides change the oil.
I was having trouble with my clutch switch. I called every dealer in town, and only the one out west of KC would see me right away. That's when I saw a Blast! that was the color I wanted! Grape Juice! Perhaps some day I'll change the body panels...

Here are some shots of Seaford workmanship.

Notice the gap
Notice the gaps

I have to reach down further to get around to the fuel shutoff
The other side of the tank

Did they kick the seat out of the way?
It looks like someone put it on the floor and kicked it out of the way or something
The other side of the seat
The other corner of the seat

They asked me what they can do to restore my faith in them. Any ideas?

Joey,
That sucks. If they dont fix it........Ride by at 2:00 am on a Monday mourning and throw rocks through there window. That will hit them where it counts..........$$$$$$$. Maybe in the process you will knock down a couple of the Look but dont touch HD's in the front window.

Went to enter the Slay the Dragon deal on Sat (Daytona HD/B) and there was no sign of an event going on. I had to ask every person in the store, no one had heard of it. Finally one guy digs around and finds a pad of entry forms and says fill it out and leave it on the desk as he walks away. Searching through the store I found one XB9R, seems like they could have put it at the front door with some sign of the event. Later I was out riding and stopped into New Smyrna HD/B to see how they did it. No one there knew anything about it, they said "Lakeland HD is having an open house maybe you have to go there?" I told them Buell sent me an email listing them as a participant, she said they are owned by Daytona HD and called them. She also had to talk to five people before someone said to send me up to Daytona as they had not passed any of the forms to NS HD. The only good dealer for 100 miles was the Orlando store and they closed it when the HD dealer moved to a new building. Not sure how they are now but I called one day and they told me John Crown (Buell rider and Buell goodnik)was no longer working there, they also told me the new Speedo Sensor PN does not exisit and they are experts so I must be confused. So it's HD biz as usual.
Guess I'll have to drive to Gainesville from now on.

Joey,

That's exactly why I do most of the work on my bike myself. Get a service manual and try it yourself. Its not rocket science....these bikes are super easy to work on. I find working on my bike to be relaxing. You'll get to know every nut and bolt and your Blast! will be happier because of it.

Just a quick note to say something good about a specific HD/Buell dealer and Buell customer service. After trouble with my local dealer in getting them to do recall work on my S1 apparently because it was purchased used, I called Buell customer svc for help...they weren't able to get cooperation from the local HD folks so they almost apologetically asked me to take it to Bumpus HD/Buell in Memphis TN. The folks there were great getting all recalls done (swingarm, shock, switches, etc) in quick order. Additionally they (Bumpus and Buell CS) replaced my race muffler as it had developed a fracture around the inlet. The Bumpus folks went over my bike with a fine toothed comb and made numerous small repairs/adjustments and provided me with a list of things that I might want to keep an eye on. Total costs to me for all this: $0.00! Plus my bike was washed and detailed.
Anyways....with all the bitchin' and sniping that goes on about a number of dealers, Bumpus deserves your business if you're in the west Tennessee area. And KUDOS to Buell CS for their assistance.

Caboose: Got the manual already. I just didn't want to take the beast apart to fix a broken bolt that had just been fixed. My mistake. It won't happen again!

If you're in Kansas City, the dealer I would recommend is west of KC, but I can't remember the name. During the time immediately before the Sturgis thing, despite having hundreds (possible exaggeration) of bikes to work on, they were the only dealer in town who would look at my Blast! to see why I had to push-start it sometimes, without me having to leave it there. The dealer who sold it to me, in Gladstone, said leave it there, and they'd have it fixed in a week. I didn't like the idea of walking 40 miles each way to work.

Turned out to be the clutch switch. After about 5 or 6 times of pulling the clutch, grabbing the switch with my thumbnail, and letting it go, the problem went away permanently.
