Awesome postage, José! I now understand what is going on inside the airbox. I'd be tremendously interested in what will happen if the throttle body was mounted on the front of the snorkel. Somewhere in the middle there can be a diffuser/collector and then twin runners going to the intake ports. Higher velocity? I'd really love to see 2 throttle bodies.

At the end of the article, the part about eliminating the primary chain, I'm all for it! No more P.I.T.A. fluid changes or slack adjustments! Of course we'll be left with a dry type clutch. Composite molded drivetrain covers and supports would help deaden the sound most likely and even weigh less. I see all kinds of possibilities.

Normally a monocoque box frame would resonate, but since the Firebolt has fuel in it, it should deaden some sound too...at least until we drain it!

...no mention of sound attenuation using the 2.5" SuperTrapp automotive 'resonator'...nice curves though!

Thanks JQ, great article and huge insights.

Interesting notes on the 88 incher. Chart 8 would grenade in short order at 7000+ RPM unless S&S wheels and rods are installed!!! The Chart 9 shows a much more practical big-inch setup (similar to the 88 incher that I built) I have the stock Lightning cams and a Mikuni 42, and mildly reworked T-S heads. My torque curve is much flatter than either Chart 8 or 9, peaking at 105 with at least 90 from 3300-6500 RPM. So in a drag race with Chart 8, he sees a very small view of my tail light because TORQUE RULES!!!
