Does any one know what the rise and pullback is for either the stock M2 or X1 bars are? I'm looking for some near stock black bars.
Thanks

S2 Corbin seats (I'm getting a bad case of Deja-vu here).

I wandered over to the Corbin site and see they have a #BGL Buell Gunfighter & Lady seat listed at $299, and on another page of their's they have the #02-G Gunfighter Ovalbac listed for $159 that should plug into the passenger position of the #BGL.

Last summer I sat on an S2 with a Corbin seat and I didn't care for the 2" setback for the front rider's position. Has anyone ordered a Corbin without the "factory" 2" setback? Has anyone ordered a Corbin for the S2 with a passenger backrest?

And finally, any opinions on what a white seat would look like on a Pearl white S2? Or black seat with white piping? Or white seat with black piping? I'm looking for on-line photos but haven't found any yet, will look more later tonight or this weekend.

Colors, I'm looking real close at the #70 Ghost color

MikeJ: IMNSHO, white on white is fugly. A natural leather/tan would be distinctive and would look nice, no piping.

Not wanting to go the all out Crossroads approach. Has anybody tried out any different configurations using a replacement from Flanders or such. Sticking with the 7/8 bar and just changing the rise and pull-back.

Mike: I've always been outspoken about my disappointment with Corbin. You can special order a seat with less of a "set-back". Just don't expect it to be done right ... or at all.

Don't do piping; it'll start rubbing sensitive spots during longer rides (as if the seat itself wasn't uncomfortable enough :))

White will get dirty real quick, and I agree with Blake, that white-on-white won't work as well as it sounds.

Yeah, the white upholstery was just a thought to get it out of the way. I know there's an S2 with a Corbin seat on it owned by a woman somewhere's around here (sat on it at Uke's last summer). If I can track her down I might be able to negotiate borrowing her S2 seat for part of a day and give it the 200 mile test. Mainly I'm just looking for a passenger rest of some sort for those two-up times. Maybe I'll go back on e-bay and keep an eye open, snag one, then modify it myself with handrails and backrest, should put that Michigan S1 tractor seat to shame when I get finished. :) Just kidding
I think I'm fairly settled on black for the seat, just need to add a rest somehow.

Blake,

finally got the rearsets on the M-Duece. Now that is comfortable positioning. Maybe with a little less pull back(next change)on the bars my wrists will be happier.

Mikej,

Ping Randy (randy.keemle@kone.com). He has an S-3 with the Corbin seat and backrest. He may have some good insights/feedback for ya.

Hope this is a useful lead.

Loki,

I'll ping ya w/ a bunch of questions when I get back to my secret, undisclosed location where I'm running a shadow kingdom.

Of course they could wait 'til the next time I see ya. But I gotta talk bikes until the weather breaks and we're had a hard rain to wash away all the gravel, sand, salt and other crud interfering with my traction and need to lean.

try the K&N superbike bars, they're a little lower and have a little more pullback than the stock S1 bars. they work excellent on a S1 with rearsets and the pro series seat

very good for long distance trips [my best day was around 750 miles]

Loki . . . . the Ma Duece bars are decidedly weird . . . .I could replacate them using a renthal dirtbike bar . . . .I wanted about an inch less pull back, and searched flanders and all with no success . . . .there a joint that'll make you customer bars, but I don't know anything about them in terms of quality, delivery time, and like that . . . . .

Mike: I've been looking for a seat with a passenger backrest for the S2 - but no luck. Corbin only makes those for the S3 etc. None of the known shops are willing to custom build one.

I may look into if any of the local upholstry shops could work something up for me. It would require a hand made (and sturdy) seat pan though.

Henrik,
I keep thinking of something mechanical like the RS's, somewhat aero when folded, somewhat comfy for the passenger when elevated.

Bomber,

I know well that you speak of.... Actually Flanders does have two that might work. The Europeon and their version of the Superbike. The kicker is the spacing for the clamps.

B-Bub,

I was looking for a little less in the pull back dept. Flatten out the bar and take some angle off of my wrists. That and drop the rise down to about half of stock. Make me lean a little farther forward. Opening up(flatten) would allow me to drop the rise and not conflict with the tank and all. Just don't want to go to the extreme of the Crossroads.

H-,

I will take some pics on sat and echo them to you.

Hwy 70(west)across the top of Wisconsin, then hang a left at Spooner and head for Hudson.

loki . . .lemme see if I can find it . . . .I think I saw iot posted either here, or over at ATC . . . . . sounds like you and I are looking for exactly the same bend . . . . If you've got the big tank, the clamp spacing WILL become an issue (please donm't ask me how many dollars it cost me to figure that out!)

I will check it out. I learned with my '82R1 about bars. '83 bars and risers would not work with the '82 controls. But the '83 risers and '84 (1100) bars would. Go figure, got very afriendly with a local salvage yard back home.

Just back from the site. Things that make you go hmmmmm. Guess it will be test mule time come monday.

If the numbers on the flanders site are accurate for the deuce.

going customs way the #30 bars might just work. about 1 1/2 less in pull back and 1 less in rise. otherwise the #32 and have the center changed to 5.

Thanks again. I did a web search on bars and these guys never popped up.

If you have to have a white corbin, how about white ostrich texture leather. Or go all out and get a Stingray leather, like my father n law has on his Screamin Eagle, (sucks its real).

Loki, rearsets and bars? that should be fun. Which rearsets did you go with? As I found out yesterday, the kickstand ain't the only thing you can drag w/ the banke rearsets, the end(!?) (not the nub on the bottom, but the end!) of the right footpeg will drag if ya really feel brave and confident. I was having a good day on a really nice stretch of road...
