Anybody have these? I saw them on some site. I have been thinking about getting some riding pants when I came across these, with the steel supposedly in them.
Thanks!

I haven't seen or tried the Joe Rocket jeans, but I got a pair of Dragin' Jeans for Christmas. They have kevlar in the butt and knees, but otherwise look like conventional jeans. You can get optional knee armor (attaches with velcro inside) for another ~$35. I've been wearing them a lot since it warmed up. I've got the knee armor and wear it for long rides but leave it out for commuting. I can't say how much protection these pants really offer but they have to be significantly better than conventional jeans and they have some believable customer testimonials on their website.

The Joe Rocket 'Atomic Jean' sucks. These are the 'heavy weight cotton canvas' model. They felt thinner than my regular jeans. I sold 'em asap. There is padding included but over all the pants felt very weak.

I use Draggin jeans almost all the time. When you sneak out for a ride and don't gear all they way up, it's better than regular jeans.

For yall that use the draggin jeans. I've been looking online at them and wondered about the sizing. On the classic or regular jeans do they fit about your regular jeans? I usually wear Wrangler pro rodeo boot cuts and wondered if I would use the same size???

I noticed that the fleece lined were supposly but different from the regular jeans...

I meant 'cut' different from the regular jeans...

Joe Rockets Jeans suck... just sent a pair back. Go with Shift Kevlar's.

I know this is an old thread, but....

I have a pair of ICON Anthem jeans - kevlar in the knees and the hips. Here is a review:

http://www.twowheelforum.com/showthread.php?t=5762

I did have a low speed low side with them, and I was a bit surprised at the result. I did get roadrash on the left side of the left cheek. The pants did not rip, but I guess from the friction of the slide, it tore my skin. My left knee did get cut as well. Not sure how it happened, but the pants are still intact, just a little scuffed. The knees are articulated, so it seems like when you bend you leg, the knees lose their protection, but the inner material is protecting you, and it is the kevlar.

Depending on how you ride, they may do the trick, but I was certainly sobered up pretty quick as to their limitations, and I honestly don't know how well any kevlar jean is gonna hold up in a crash at speed.

I have seen the videos of the Draggin' Jeans, and they are impressive it seems. Just don't mistake abrasion protection with getting banged around and broken, and you'll be ok.

The ICON Anthem jeans seem to me to be their high end model, and they retail for $100-$110.
