What else? Another Firebolt, of course. I'll be getting an '05 XB9R, then swapping out the yellow bodywork for black and white. By the way, let me know when you want that MT75 rear tire.
Lou
P.S. I'll be working at the pub this Thursday-Saturday. Stop in, I owe you a pint, or two.

Lou,
I may be able to pop in on Thursday.
We leave early Friday for a wedding in Indiania so the weekend is shot.
What time you start and what's the address again?

The Slimey Crud Run this Sunday

Who's going for sure?
Which way are you coming in from?
Want to meet up with other heading in from the same direction?

Our plan is the same. Leave Appleton at 8:30 sharp, ride to the Starbucks in Madison on the south side, Monona Dr exit(about a block north on Monona, on your right hand side) we plan to be there at 10:30. We will leave at 11:00 to ride out to Pine Bluff, eta is 11:30-12:00

Probably hang out in Pine Bluff for 1 hour and then head to Leland.

I will be packing some Buell product CDs for those of you that don't already have one and to hand out to the unsuspecting!

So, one last time, who's going?
Who's meeting us in Madison?
Who's meeting us in Pine Bluff?
Who's meeting us in Leland?

Please go to the thread in the Quickboard to reply.

PS
There are still openings for the track day at Blackhawk on Monday the 4th.
Call me if you're interested.

Dave

Brad, Nils,

Sorry I don't check this area as often as I should, been traveling recently. Check your mail about this, I'm looking to get out on a ride this Saturday AM before noon. Otherwise I'd like to plan for something the weekend of Oct. 23-24, an early morning ride or whatever works for you.

Hey anyone interested in a ride this weekend? October 30th or 31st. Maybe one of the last decent weekends for a reasonable length blast about.

Well this place has been pretty quiet of late.

I just wanted to share the fact that I stopped at Zylstra's in Elk River this weekend and they had about 3 racks of Buell clothing which is probably the most I've seen at any dealer.

They had three of the blue and white "pit crew" shirts(all XL), a couple of the gray garage shirts(already have one), and a bunch of the black ones with the flaming pegasus logo on the back(gotta get me one of those).

They had some blue "dickie" brand work jackets with Buell logos, some "new era" brand baseball caps, and an assortment of buell t-shirts long and short sleeved as well as hooded sweatshirts with a "vanson cotton" brand on the label.

Thats all I noticed that was new. They have had a smattering of stuff I have seen there for quite a while(chambray shirts, microfiber fleece, Vanson leather jackets gloves, backpack, etc.) As usual, none of it is bargain priced.

With the talk of some dealers dropping the Buell line, I was wondering if any one in the Twin Cities has done so?
Any news from St.Paul, Lakeville, or Delano?

Happy Holidays
Tim

Yes, pretty quiet now that the snow came. Dec. 17 was the last day I could ride to work, before the snow/sand/salt covered roads. I always forget to check this board, only check the XBoard often. I'll have to change that habit next spring and get out riding early and often. Maybe Scott can lead some of us MN folk through the alphabet soup in WI?

Did Zylstra have any Buells there? Just wondering about availability of a used 9S locally. May have to go check out the clothing selection.

Non-bike related but regionally relevant post/inquiry:
Relatively speaking, specifically about St.Paul/Minneapolis metro area, where is the main industrial area, or is it spread all over?
I know the Mall of America is south of the cities someplace (I think), I know BluzM2 is northwest of the cities (approximately), but where are the primary job density areas? And if one were to eventually relocate there in a year or three and accidently ended up living on one side of the metro area and working on the other side how bad of an average commute would it be? I know from living in So.California that you could be looking at a 1-3 hour commute, Seattle can be that way as well if the route between work and home are regularly congested.

Where are the major hospitals in the metro and surrounding area?

Where are the bad neighborhoods to avoid living in or near?

Where are the nice but reasonably priced neighborhoods to live in?

Where are the "good" dealerships located, or at least those who will still be Buell dealers after 2005?

Where are local job openings posted, newspapers, websites, Monster.com, elsewhere?

How is the housing market locally?

How much more extreme are the winters compared to the Milwaukee area? The lake over here tempers the weather some.

How many more questions can I ask before someone starts throwing empty oil bottles at me? ; )

No immediate plans, and I've asked this stuff before, just surfacing again as a possibility, Arizona and Colorado are other possibilities, or staying put is yet another possibility. Just fishing at the moment.

Thanks for any input. Will probably wander up that way sometime in the next 3 days to 8 months for a visit and general lookaround. Hope all your winter projects progress well.

mike.

Mike,
I'll reply in detail later when I have more time.
You ask some good but "loaded" questions.
I need a bit of pondering time...

The best questions are always loaded, eh?
No hurry. We may plan a weekend day up there sometime after the middle of January or early February, I'll let you know to see if you'll be around to grab a bite to eat someplace. Plus I want to see what you've done to your bikes, I'll be tearing mine partially down after the middle of January.
Thanks,
Mike.

OK, it's a done deal!
Since Edge Performance Riding Courses is no longer doing track days I had to find a new track day organization to pimp for.
I am now working with Leon at Private Track Time.

Dates for this coming summer are as follows,
May 25th Blackhawk Farms

June 23rd Autobahn, Joliet IL http://www.autobahncountryclub.net/

July 2-3rd Blackhawk (this is for you that whine about them always being during the week!)

July 27th Blackhawk

Sept 8th Autobahn

Cost is $150.00 per day

You can check out details at www.privatetracktime.com

Please register thru me! I have committed to signing up at least 8 riders per track day so help me out.

Start making plans now!
Do not put this off until the last one of the summer, you will be bummed you can't do more.

If you have questions feel free to call or email me.
1-866-757-1651
or
daves@h-dappleton.com

PS, Leon rides a Buell!

I talked to someone at the factory today and he informed me that there will be Buells racing at Road America on April 23rd and 24th!
The 23rd looks like a CCS day
The 24th will be Formula USA.
I don't know if I will be able to make it(depends on Kandie's schedule) but wanted to let everyone know about it.
Go cheer the Buells on!

Cold,
The only 9 Zylstra had on the floor was a new cityX. They also had a couple of used and new twelves of the "R"&"S" variety and a Blast. They could have had more in storage.

I see you mention Hwy 1 in your profile.
The wife and I rode that stretch earlier this fall. Nice. We look forward to riding it again next year.

I guess I don't need to shop around for a used 9 anymore....the person looking for one just put a deposit on a new CityX and will pickup in early spring! He's up by you and we will be planning lots of riding this year.

I do hope to get up to the north shore, it's out of the way for where I usually go but worth it. I often go rock climbing at Tettagouche or Palisade Head so instead of going straight up 61 in the car last year a friend and I took a detour through Ely. His response was that next time we could skip the climbing and just go back and forth on Hwy 1 a few times and then go home!

With the lack of snow so far this year we may have clean roads early in the spring with not much to melt. I already can't wait to go chase that CityX around.

Nils,
But he's not a regular Buell rider!
I'll stop in and say Hi!
I may go Friday by myself then on Saturday with a friend.
Going to be a good blues band at Famous Daves on Saturday night.
Probably head over there after the show.

Brad

If I make it, I'll stop by and see you Nils.
But my main reason for going won't be there. In past years Corbin had a booth there and you could get 10% off a seat at the show. I called them to see if they would be there and if they could bring a sample of their new XB_R seat. They won't be there, no discount, no seat for me yet, bummer.

I'll probably go Friday after work. My main reason will be to check out the Street Rod. I don't think they are at the dealers yet. I'll definetly hit the Buell booth too!

Nils, that's great! Thanks for the link, it really helps for knowing what's planned for the summer. I was going to look you up soon to see when things kick off (not going to make it to the show this weekend). I've been riding the last 3 days so I'm ready for spring, even though it will surely snow for two more months.

Any word on setting up a possible track day at BIR this year?

I did not find out until after I posted the calender.

I have made arrangements for a local pub, The Bull Dog on 26th and Lyndale ave S Minneapolis, to show the Daytona races on Saturday March 12th. There will be food and beverage specials for us BRAG members. The Buells will be racing the Daytona 200. I will have more information later. Let me know if you are interested. The St Paul Brag schedule is finally up on Saint Paul Harley Davidson/ Buells website.
If any of you would like a FREE Buell hat, bring in the coupon from Buell.com to St Paul Harley, and I will give you one.
