Hey folks,

The Windy City Brag chapter plans on doing the Slimey Crud Runs. We are going to meet up with the Sauk Valley, WI chapter for that in Madison I think.

Also, we are planning to visit Peoria, IL for the TTs come summer and hopefully meet the St Louis Chapter there. I'll post the dates for this when I learn more.

Want to team up at some point?

Hello WIB,
Maybe you have heard of our group through Dave (who happens to be one hell of a true motorcyclist), but just a reminder Sauk Prairie BRAG would like to invite your group to our five main rides that we have nicknamed “The Big Five”. You and whomever you would like to bring along are welcome to join us on some of Southern Wisconsin’s beautiful twisties! All you have to do is meet us at the starting destination. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to give me a call or e-mail. Hope to see you this summer!!!
Thanks,
Marty Hunt

THE BIG 5
As of 2-5-01

Spring Slimy Crud Run
When: Sunday, May 6th
Where: Pine Bluff, WI
Meeting At: Jake’s in Pine Bluff at 10am
Basic Schedule: Leaving Pine Bluff at 11am and heading “the long way” to Leland, ride should be done by early afternoon.
Ride Description: A get together of Motorcyclists of all different ages and types. If you have ever picked up a Cycleworld and read Peter Egan’s editorial you more than likely have heard about it. Peter is a regular at this ride and for good reason; it is a hell of a lot of fun!!! The riding from Pine Bluff to Leland is actually pretty short. In fact, we go out of our way on some nice twisties to extend the ride to usually between 100 to 150 miles to Leland. The two villages are just specs on the map, but they get over run by the motorcycles for the day. The locals are cool about it though and it really is a melting pot for a huge variety of motorcycles. Definitely try to make this one.

AMA Road America Sunday Races
When: Sunday, June 10th
Where: Sauk City
Meeting At: Sauk City McDonald’s off of HWY 12
Basic Schedule: Leaving Sauk at 9am, arriving at Road America at around 11am/12pm. Should be back before dark.
Ride Description: Well hell, its Wisconsin’s biggest motorcycle racing event! We will be meeting Bueller’s already at the track between 10 and 11am in the grand stands at corner 5. It is a great day to see all the AMA big time racers have to offer. Quite the humbling site to see those guys fly around the track too. They usually have a parade lap and stunt show to boot!

Multi Group Ride
When: Sunday, June 24th
Where: Madison
Meeting At: West Side Denny’s at 9am
Basic Schedule: Leaving Madison at 9am to meet with other BRAG groups at the Prairie Du Chein Pizza hut at noon.
Ride Description: This one has been spiraling together over the course of the winter. We have been coordinating a ride of several groups from the Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin area. This is a great way to meet other Buellers and their Buells outside of our general riding area. What we intend to do is go for a ride through the southwestern part of Wisconsin making a loop and heading back to Prairie Du Chein. If you are unfamiliar with this area it is right along side the Mississippi River and hosts some great views of bluffs that hold nice twisty roads. Hope you can make it!

BRAG Homecoming 2001 Dealer Activity
When: Thursday, August 30th
Where: Sauk Prairie H-D/Buell Dealership
Meeting at: The dealership at 1am
Basic Schedule: Eat lunch with some Buellers and then head out on different prepared routes to showcase our home turf to the visiting Buell riders. Should be a blast with your presence at the event! We’ll have more details, as the event gets closer.

Fall Slimy Crud Run
When: Sunday, October 7th
Where: Pine Bluff
Meeting At: Jake’s in Pine Bluff at 10am
Basic Schedule: Leaving Pine Bluff at 11am and heading “the long way” to Leland, ride should be done by early afternoon.
Ride Description: Basically the same as the Spring run only in the Fall. Really for some of the motorcyclist in the area this ride kicks off and closes the “true” riding season. As much fun as we have at the Spring run, this wasn’t doesn’t fail to be just as much of a blast! See you there.

There that is all of them. We are still planning some other events and will notify your group for where and when. Such events like Byron Drag Day (rained out last year), Midwest Track Riders Days (already pre-arranged, I’ll write details at a later date, but if you would like them sooner please e-mail me)… 2001 is really taking shape, I hope to meet many new Bueller’s and their Buells. I think with the events we have planned it should be a “Buelltiful” year.
Talk to you all later,
Marty Hunt

Hello WIB,
Here is something I've also been putting together for communications among our progressively communicating regional area Buellers. I've been collecting names and e-mails of Buell owners in the Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin area that are interested in doing some rides. In fact our ride on the 24th of June is building some very high expectations. Quite possibly a start for our own BRAG regional event in the Midwest, other than Homecoming!!!

If you are interested in participating please e-mail me with your name and e-mail. I will keep a seperate folder for ride notification and reminders.

I will also be sending notification and directions to people interested in the Slimy Crud Run, Road America AMA weekend, Byron Drag Day, and Homecoming. I hope to see you all this summer.
Please direct any questions and/or e-mails to
Thank you very much,
Marty Hunt

Well the ride last Sunday was great! Marty and Eldon did a fantastic job of setting up the route. I hope we can make this an annual run.
It was nice to finally meet Vwolf and Bomber from Chicago. See you guys at the Homecoming in Aug.

Ride to the edge!

HAS ANYONE ELSE READ THIS CRAP!!!!!!!!!

The official press release follows:

Harley-Davidson announced today the Company has chosen to end its
factory VR1000 Superbike racing program and retire from the American
Motorcycle Association (AMA) Superbike series after the final round of
the 2001 season at Virginia International Raceway on September 28-30...

"Our development team took a hard look at rebuilding the program this
year, and what it would take to bring the VR 1000 to a competitive level
and replace it with a new design. Harley-Davidson has determined the
resources required to do that are simply too costly to pursue given our
other business priorities," said Baker.

Well, Maybe they will finally do the right thing and Create a Buell
motorcycle to race in its place!!!!!

Quite honestly, I think Eric Buell should demand it!!! Picotte is still under
contract for another 2 years with HD. Can you imagine the possibilities
with Pascal on an Eric Buell creation???????

Just found this on motorcycle online. please sign this and let HD know
how all the Buelligans really feel!!!

http://www.petitiononline.com/hdb/petition.html

All people who want to see an American AMA Superbike win, sign this!

thanks
