Damn guys. I mean...wooooooaaaaaah. I think about half this is only half in jest. Personally, I'd rather ride with you guys than a bunch of ninjabusas just because I have a snoballs chance in hell of keeping up with you guys...until you hit the gas. However, I'm also not a big fan of meetings, and going and sitting somewhere trying to convince a dealer that they need our business doesn't appeal to me whenI could be out riding my bike until I break something else. | ||

Hey guys. I was at the Henderson Dealership and spoke with them about if there is a Buell group here in Las Vegas. The guy at the dealership said there was a group, he thought. He said every now and then a pack of Buell riders show up down there but he wasn’t sure of how I could meet the group. Finally I spoke with a guy at the gas station last night who was talking to me about my Buell and he told me how to find you guys here. So I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi and find out if or when you guys meet up to ride. I see there is the Battle Born American Sportbikes club. Is that a real name? Seems like a joke name but I’m not sure. Is there a real BRAG club for Las Vegas? I searched the BRAG site and could turn up anything for Las Vegas. Well anyways I hope to meet up with you guys sometime. Philip | ||

Welcome Philip, There is usually a bunch of chatter here, you just happened to join on a slow day. Battle Born American Sportbikes in the BRAG club name. We were not allowed to use BRAG or Buell in the name of the club, and the name had to do something with the state we were in, so what better name than the motto on our state flag. Feel free to post here or at our other sites. You can find the other links in some of the previous posts. So far we are 21 riders strong and growing fast. Nick,the Director of our BRAG club and I were considering creating our own web site to avoid some of the confusion with the individual forums we are currently using, so bear with us for a while. Kick back, ask questions if you have some and enjoy the ride. Some of the guys here will rag on you a bit, but that's just letting you know that you are part of our "riding family". See ya.....  | ||

Well guys..so far so good. I picked up my NEW tire toady from Cycle Gear. Cost me $9.00! If you ever buy tires there, buy the damn 9 buck insurance! My parts are on the way from Buell, now all I have to do is wait. Every time I have walked into the dealership, Andy has came over to say hello and ask how things were. The service people have been really cool too. SO far, so good. | ||

Our group will be laughed at forever… Philip, welcome to the bad web. Hey man I hear ya on the “Battle Born American Sportbikes club” name. I couldn't believe it either when I heard it. I thought that it was a joke too. Tell me have you ever heard of a club, like Corvette or Harley or anything, that wouldn’t let you use the name? Especially in an official club supported by the factory??? Me either. I think if they won’t even let you use the name “Buell” or “BRAG” then how are they ever going to sponsor a track day where they have to come up with money? Don’t hold your breath. As far as discounts go… 1st we are so over priced out here for anything that I can see the dealership saying “well ok lets rip them off just a little less”. All of us agree that we can get parts for our bikes cheaper and quicker if we order them from Appleton Wisconsin than here at the local dealership. Hey Phillip: Nice to see you here! Never mind all the banter above..mainly just two guys with bruised egos and busted bike waiting to get them back from the dealership. It sucks being grounded! This really is a great group of people. The riding skills and personalities are about as diverse as any you could ask for. And yup.. we are on the way to being that offical BRAG group, and yup..Battle Born is what we had to go with. It may sound silly, but it does represent the whole state. Look up about 10 posts and I think you will see the full explanation. We'll be seeing you! We have at least 4 rides within the next two months that we'll be advertising soon. Hey guys thanks for all the responses. John I’m not scared by that flag I have seen it in the lunch room all my life. Sounds like a good group. Lghtn seems passionate about his views. I do agree some what with his post. I don’t think a little respect from the dealership is not to much to ask for. Why won’t the dealership let you guys use the Buell name? Did they say why? Did you guys ever consider names that are simple like Desert Sportbikes or Siver State Sport bike? Or if this is the group representing the whole state then how about Nevada Sportbikes? Rich: I am 25 and this is my first street bike. My dad has always had Harleys and I have grown up with them. I love my XB and ripping through turns and burning the rubber up! | ||

I hope with the whole bruised ego thing, you not talking about me and if your talking about riders who have gone down you should know that is the one thing other riders don't joke about obviously your karma has not taught you a lesson. One more thing I have noticed other cites using the BRAG name why not Las Vegas BRAG???????? John: Martin is right put away the flag! and were did you come up with 21` riders according to my contact list the number is 14 with only a select 2 or 3 showing up for posted rides. Philip:while all the guys out are here are pleasant some are D&D caliber you will find that Martin and I are the ones who will rip through the turns and burn up the rubber with you.Philip the reason the factory won't let us use there name,is there only interested in your wallet. Rich.. I think I am about done joking around here because all it does it get •••• started. I can joke about me all day long. Damn straight I am embarassed and pissed off because I trashed the bike. I am also damn happy that I didnt go down or get hit in the chest, so I look on that as damn good luck. I wasnt talking about you anyway. And dont talk to me about Karma.. I am way more well versed on that subject than you know. The reason that you see BRAG in other group names is that was before the new ruling came out from Buell. The reason is all about Liability. You sure as hell wont see the Chevy sponsoring a group with their name unless there is a TON of legal crap. This simply cuts out the legal BS. And you know..if you dont like the name of the group, then make a vote and change it AFTER we finally get the charter done. We had to make decisions before any of you came along to get this thing started. It is a really simple deal to get it changed LATER. As far as the logo goes... hell design one and make it work. |
