Ya but once you got there Rich you’d have to listen to Nicks dying fan BiZzzBizzBiZzz choke choke cough cough… But Rich watch your step if you walk up to his bike to see what that choking buzzard sound is because there will be oil all around. Sorry Nick I know you did the work all yourself. I guess the BRAG parts and Labor discount hasn’t come through yet. We understand…

Damn,
I am off from work for a couple of days and all s**t breaks loose. I am getting mixed signals here. Are we going forward with the BRAG thing or not. I am busting my a** getting phone contacts and rider feedback together to put this group on the same page. Are you guys saying that you don't want me to continue trying to find new riders to go riding with us or do you want to stick with the amount of people we have now?

I totally agree with the rides issue. I don't know how many rides I've been to that have only been me and two other Buellers along with some guys from SCS. I can see that we are all on different pages so the question is, are we going to try and make this work or just let the pieces fall were they shall. Let me know by Saturday, before I agree to become part of BRAG.

John seriously, I have only seen you post two different rides and both of them were not rides… C’mon, Going to Sin City Sportbike meeting is not riding. That is just hanging out. If that is the direction you want to see the Buell club go, well that is just not for me. To tell you the truth I don’t want anything to do with that club or it’s members. That’s why I don’t go to any of the events posted that involves them. That club wants to sponsor new riders for six months and that new rider has to work all the rides for six months. They have discipline hearings and crap like that. Geeze… what a bunch of clowns.

Wait… Wait… John are you under the impression that the Buell group is going to be like the SCS club??? Because that club is B*llsh*t! I’m not a little kid and I certainly wont tolerate being treated like one. I don’t need a Boyscout Den Leader and a troop patch to feel excepted so I can go ride my motorcycle. I’m certainly not going to pay into something (club dues) unless I think I’m getting something in return (membership privileges). I’m not in the habit of giving out free money.

Look I’m all about the ride. I say if you have a Buell and you want to ride with other guys who share your enthusiasm then come along and welcome to the group! Lets have fun! Hell I’ll even let the little Blasties run with us. Well maybe not that far… (kidding) Seriously, though it should be fun for all riders.

I feel that the group should meet as a group to go ride. (period) We meet at a location and once everyone is there we leave. You don’t need to bring the whole family for that. When Nick or I have posted rides with the guys from Sport Bike Net that is exactly what happens. We meet with one intention and that is riding. We meet and leave just that fast. If were all friends and want to meet up afterwards with family and friends to hang out, well that sounds like fun to. After.

Hey guys.. it was great to see the new faces yesterday.

On to the stuff: With Jake's new responsibilities with Uncle Sam, he stepped down as Director for the time being. Here are the "Official" officers as listed with BRAG:

Nick Moody: Director
John Martinez: Co Director
Mark Tansey: Sexcetary
Owen Risse: Treasurer

We discussed a lot of things with the guys at HHD. The main being the treatment of Buell owners when they bring their bikes in. I think everyone vented to the management there, the frustrations that everyone has dealt with when bringing their bikes in for service. We also discussed the pricing and availability of parts, especially when it comes to common service items. The dealership promised to work with us on that aspect of the group. The biggest thing that caught my attention was the willingness to get the group RIDING! Tom, the sales manager was adamant about the fact that we are about riding! He mentioned the fact that they would work with us on some track days at Parhump, and also a BattleTrax event. We will have access to the Buell customer list by the end of next week, and we will start working on a welcome letter to send out to all the Buell customers in the valley. (and outside the valley as well, especially since Kingman has lost their Buell dealership)

I'll be cross posting rides here and other boards from our group and several others as well. I can almost guarantee that there will be somewhere to go every weekend if you want to ride. I do have plans on doing some "all Buell" rides, and some longer "day long" rides and maybe an overnighter this summer. I promise that I will do all I can do, and I know that I speak for the other guys and the dealership when I say that we will work as hard as we can to make this a RIDERS group! Like Martin said, let's hear what you think!
Nick

To All:
Nick thank you for stepping up to Director. John thank you also. I have been away from the computer and the group for a few weeks doing things for the Army. I will be back in the loop in just a few more weeks.

Just a couple of things: 1: This club is for riding not just sitting around shooting the bull. 2: some of the hanging out was to see how many were commited to making this happen. We needed some starting numbers for this to happen. Now that Nick and John and the rest have got the ball going lets show some support.
I will be at all the rides I can.

Howzabout us all meeting at Pahrump on 11 and 12th of June?

Our Golden State mob is heading up for both days of track riding - if you EVER thought you wanted to try a track day, this is a cool operation. We put together more than 20 Buellers last year so we will have PLENTY of tools and spares. All you have to do is track-prep your bike (check the website and if you're still unsure, there's a bunch of us there who can help out.

We don't get any kickback - the motivation is pure FUN!

Their new-to-track group is run as a school wirh specific on-track drills AND after the first couple sessions, they start working with you on your riding technique. A great way to learn your bike in a controlled environment.

Because a bunch of us have done this before and if you are at all uncertain about suspension setup, we can help you out there, too (amazing what a difference a properly setup bike can make!)

This is NOT a Buell or BRAG sponsored event. It is run by Sportbike Track Time - but we'll all have an area staked out for the Buells so you'll feel right at home.

If last year was any indication of how enthused everybody got - this year looks to be even better/bigger.

Bring your families too. This is a FUN group and kids are welcome - we usually try supplying some snacks and such out of our BRAG treasury - though Sportbike Track Time FORCES you to drink water. If their child-slave-labor (Todd's daughters) - see you with an empty hand, their orders are to hand you a bottle of water! Todd wants to be certain NOBODY gets dehydrated.

If you need more info - ping them at
http://www.sportbiketracktime.com

Feel free to ask more specific questions.

Also, Mario Vendini - the GM of Glendale HD/Buell and his brother Dino - GM of Hollywood HD - are both going to be there riding so it would be a GREAT opportunity for you to bring your local dealer out and actually have him talk to the guys who run our group AND to the sponsoring dealer.

Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch
Saturday 11th, Sunday 12th
1 Day $150/$135
2 Day Pass $285/$255

According to their website, the following services are available - note some are included in price, some are $$ extras

Professional Instruction*
Cont. Breakfast*
Lunch*
Michelin Tire Service
Massage Therapists
Dyno Tuning
Race Fuel (VP & Nutec)
Photography

* Included in basic price

Jake: No probs dude! We know that Uncle Sam takes priority. Good luck out there! I imagine it wont be long until we are terrorizing the McD's on Wednesday nights again!

Steve: That sound like fun! I am sure there will be some here that will be there for sure. If I don't get to run, I will at least ride out for moral support. Thanks for the info and the opportunity.

Cool deal -

Until the new owners finish the tunnel under the track, you have to cross over the front straight into the infield - so if you come out when they are running, you may have to wait there at the gate til there's a short break - same for the exit - you may have to wait 20 minutes or so to exit.

Other than that, it is a fun time!

I am out for anytyhing for a while guys... on the way tor work this morning, one of the construction rock haulers was nice enough to hurl a fist sized rock at me and I hit it. Busted the front tire and bent the rim. All this at70+ Me and the center divider were fast becoming intimate. All is well... just the bike got bent. I have already called Geico, and will be calling the dealer when they open. See ya all ... soon I hope.

Alrighty then. Now that I am back from my vacation time, I have caught up with all the e-mails.

All points taken...
Here is my rebuttal:

We as a BRAG group cannot initiate people into BRAG. Because it is BRAG, anyone that signs up with BRAG, becomes a member of BRAG. As far as the Sin City Issue, if someone does not want to be associated with them, they do not have too. Who is to say that some of the other buellers have issues with SBN. I am not saying they do, I am just saying that if there are issues, they should be kept as personal issues and not spread like dirty laundry. Our fellow Buellers are very smart individuals and can make up there own minds on who to ride with. I for one don't have any issues with either group. I am all for riding, but as some of the other riders have commented, we are together to go riding, not to go racing. It's all well and good if you wanna see who's faster than who, but I for am knowledgeable of the fact that my bike is not capable of the speeds that other bike do achieve (as of yet that is, but I'm working on it).

I will be the first to apologize to anyone who believed there was some type of initiation to become a member of BRAG. Now that you all know, is everyone still interested in joining our little group we like to call "Battle Born American Sportbikes"? Like Nick stated, we have some big plans for this group of ours, and we can't make it successful without everyone's input and cooperation. Now we just need to get our "Leader's" bike going so we can make some of these rides...JK

Peace ya'll.....See ya...

Who came up with the name "Battle Born American Sportbikes"??? Is that the official name? Don’t get me wrong it kind of has a ring to it as it flows off my tongue.

"Hi guys! I’m with the Battle Born American Sportbikes club…"

John I didn’t know we weren’t on good terms. John I’m just a very sarcastic person and a lot of my comments sound good out loud but could be read out of context of their intent. I see that a lot of your rebuttal was directed at me with the Sin City boys and riding fast. Point taken.

Martin: What the hell man?? Are you having the day off?? Not used to seeing you here this much.
About the name, there is a story there. When we started working with BRAG, one of their requirements were that we use something that is related to the state that we represent. That is where that "Battle Born" came from. The American Sport Bikes part is obvious. I think this was beore you and I met. We went through about a million ideas. BRAG wasn't real hip on aything that was "Sin City" related either. The thing to remember is that we will be the ONLY BRAG chapter in the state. We will be the Nevada representative so to speak.
