FRIDAY NIGHTS??? Martin mentioned it..but has anyone seen the crowd that hangs out at the HD Cafe on Friday nights?? We were down there last night and I would bet there were 50+ bikes there and I would say half were sport bikes! I am up for it as soon as I get another Friday night off, just to stop in and say howdy if nothing else. Any other takers??

Anybody else here? Damn this place is getting reallly quiet!

I'm getting Fridays and Saturdays off for the next few months. I'll also most likely be available to ride Sunday mornings. All of this starts the first week of February. The Blast is starting to feel too slow so now its time to look at options. I need to stick with a Buell so either an XB or some serious mods to the Blast. I'll start with a new pipe and jetting the carb, then see if I can get ahold of a 515cc kit with a stage III head. The poor little bike needs more power hauling my big butt around! That reminds me, I had some grizzled old biker turn around and ride with me for a ways just so he could check out the little bike. He thought it was cool! Apparently he's not seen one on the road before.

I think I hate belts. I broke the blast belt...last Thursday, so that's out of commission. Then the timing belt on my truck broke Monday on my way to school, so I have no transportation, and neither one is a quick fix because I have to wait at least a week for a belt for the bike, and replacing one in the truck is time consuming...gah! Now I see why japbikes have chains....IN other news, what happened to everyone? It used to be like a zillion posts a day, then it died off...

I think we need to get together and make it a family/significant other thing. We should plan to have dinner or something like that so that we can all meet at one place at one time. There are 21 members on the Meetup board, but when we have rides scheduled, we only get 5 or 6 to go on it. We seriously need to look into things to make it fun again. I think we need to start by getting fresh ideas from the new members as well as getting new ideas from the original members.

I am going to create and send out another form that will be used as feedback as to what the general consensus believes we should be doing to make this group fun again. Once I get feedback from everyone, I will post the results. I think we just need everyones mindset as to what they expect from this Buell group.

I hope everyone can submit there ideas in a timely manner so that maybe we can discuss it on Saturday as a group. See ya then....

So out of boredom, I was looking at insurance....and I got a quote from progressive that said I could have an 03 firebolt 9 fully covered for something insane like 560 a year.....that's after I turn 19 though, I think the blast only has a couple more months left if nothing else major goes wrong...: )

Cant go wrong that way, Dan. That is about what I pay for insurance on my XB. Not a bad deal really. Good luck on getting a new bike! Maybe you can sell yours to Jason so he can get the carb and pipe!

Ok all you buellies out there. I replied to everyone with my comments and in case you were not on the list or just new to the group I'll post it.

What do you hope to see happen in the near future within the BRAG group?

I would like to see the riders of the group ride more. Seems every time a ride has been posted no one from our group or just nick shows up. So why bother anymore?

Do you have any proposed rides you would like to share?

Ya ride more talk about it less. I don't feel we need to have some big group ride all the time. I'm sure we can enjoy short rides that last for an hour or so in town that would be just as fun.

What is it about these forum boards that got you interested? BadWeb, Yahoo, MeetUp

I logged in to the group to meet up with other riders who had the same interest in cycling that I did.

How much is family participation a factor in you riding / attending group meetings?

None… I don’t see the need to drag the whole family around unless the group does not plan on riding that day. I mean a bike only has room for one other rider. I think it would be great to have a BBQ and let the families meet up once in awhile but not every time. I would like to see the group do more riding.

Once our BRAG group becomes official, we will be conducting monthly meetings. Do you have any proposed locations as to where we should meet, and on what days are most convenient?

Well I would like to meet at a place that welcomes us more than the Henderson Harley Dealership or any Harley Dealership for that matter. At the dealership we have to all just stand around in the parking lot till the group shows up. Blah… Every time I have had to deal with the dealership I have been treated poorly. So my thoughts are F*** them!

So here are two suggestions:

1) The HD café on Las Vegas Blvd. They seem to be tailor made for our group and it appears that they would want our business. While waiting for other members to show up we could sit down and eat and know that our bikes are safe. Plus it seems to be centered in town and easy to find for new members. Then launch the days ride!
2) Hooters seems to be another place that would welcome in our business. We could grab a bite to eat and keep an eye on our bikes because the place has big windows. Then launch the days ride!

We will be choosing new group leaders on a yearly basis. Would you be interested in becoming one of the leaders Is there anything about this group you would like to know??

Nope. I’m not interested in paying dues and having elections and wearing a gay Brag patch on my jacket and crap like that. I just want to meet up, ride and have fun! Furthermore It doesn’t appear that the dealership really wants to make this thing happen. I feel it should be the other way around with the dealer ship trying to create and sponsor this organization. Instead were getting the run around with the talk of lawyers over looking papers and crap like that. Hey it might just be me, (eyes look left then right) but what papers???

Hey guys i'm inclined to agree with Martin on this .I don't think we need to be an "official" Buell group to hang out and ride.I don't know about you guys, but I don't think we need secret handshakes or special patches to be friends and enjoy riding together. As far as H.D goes they can kiss my a** they should be begging us to put this together, but I ask whats in it for us?
They get free advertising every time we go out and what do we get?
Since I bought my Buell I've gotten nothing ,but B.S from any H.D dealer I'am so fed up with it that I'm thinking of going Ducati.
So I say if they going to make it impossible to put this together then the hell with them.
I don't need H.D permission to ride with you guys I'll go anytime!

Let me also say that I was just blowing off steam I would never get rid of my Buell I can't help it I love the thing.I'm just of the problems that go with it and getting the run around from H.D.
I would not mind being treated like s**t if they did'nt kill you with charges'but its total crap when they make you wait weeks at time then hit you with a huge bill.To this day I can't understand how it can take so long to get a part for an American bike

INteresting comments coming from you two... the offroad professional and the drunk.

I agree with all your points to a point... I would say that Saturday would be either put up or STF up day. What happened is that we got handed off to HHD from LVHD. I actually think that was a good move. The thing that sucked azz is that no one let us in on that till I got a call from HHD.
Reasons to have a BRAG chapter:#1 parts discounts! Service priority! Access to many other Buell riders that may not know we exist. Sponsorship of events like track days, etc. They already said that they would sponsor these things. Having a BRAG group is not necessary to ride, I agree. It can enhance what we do if they really sponsor us as they should. This is the ENTIRE point of the meeting Saturday. You can voice your opinions to the dealership and let them know what we want!
Family involvemnet: I agree again to a point. My wife will more than likely never ride the Xb with me. She had fun riding chase with John's wife on the ride to Kingman, so that is always going to be a factor on the long rides. Also another reason that I wanted to be a part of a group is to make friends. I think that friendship can be beyond the bike, so that involves family. TAke the strip club night for instance. My wife will be there..ready to rock.

I wholly 100% agree on the rides! I now have Friday/Saturdays off...and I am ready to go for it. Martin is right...every ride we have posted this year, it has been he and I along with guys from SBN. There are lots of good rides around town to to. One of the guys from SBN in like the ride God.... he knows all the places to go, and we can always ride along to learn them. I have some ideas working for some longer rides as we get the chance. Oatman, Utah, and some others!

Sorry if that all ran together...been busy busy here at work!

Anyone up for wasting some gas on Saturday after the meeting??
Nick

Don’t worry Rich if they ban us from the group because we won’t wear our BRAG patch and make butterfly’s with our fingers at the end of our hand shakes then we can start our own BRAG (Blacksheep Riders Against the Grain) club… with Black Jack and Hookers… In fact forget the club.
