I have been in contact with the "Naysayer" (Dyna) and I believe he has been suspended. I'm not sure if he has been totally banished. According to e-mails I was able to read, ALL the Moderators have been in deep discussions with Blake about Dyna horrible behavior. I think they're all nuts, but what do I know. I'll probably get in trouble for this alone, but I don't really care. We are all supposed to be adults here and even though this is "Blakes site" I too am growing weary of the "I'm the Teacher all you 2nd Graders" attitude. I think some people need to get off the power trip and grow up themselves. See ya Saturday. You too Dyna!

Can't speak for the rest, but I have a life believe or not and I haven't seen or been involved in any deep discussions going on !! Not to mention, I'm not a deep person, shallow and mean I am !!

Probably seems more interesting to believe that though, adds drama !!

Never said I believed it, but that is what an e-mail from Blake to Dyna said. Lots of other things as well, but a lot had to do with his "negative attitude" and things like the pictures he posts. Isn't this the same person who started a X-mas fund for Blake. I don't remember any of his Cronies doing that. I don't always agree with Dyna, but I still don't like the attitude of "you can have an idea, as long as it falls in line with mine." I hoped, and really didn't believe, you were involved CJ.

ANY IDEA ON APPROX. COST?
I COULD USE A PAIR, NO SENSE IN SCRATCHING THE BIKE UP MORE, AND MAYBE MY AIRBOX WON'T BREAK THEN?
ALTHOUGH WILL IT HELP THE BIKE IF ITS FLIPPING THROUGH THE AIR?
I GUESS COST WILL DETERMINE FOR ME.

I'll figger' the cost out as soon as I get the replaceable "pucks". Then I know what size to make 'em. I don't get great prices on aluminum since we don't do much volume with the stuff. Most of the stuff I cut is more exotic alloys like P20, H13, D2, and S7. REALLY hard steel. And with China grabbing all the raw materials they can get their hands on, the price of Aluminum has skyrocketed. But it still should be quite a bit cheaper than what you can buy 'em for from places like American Sport Bike.

RS, I don't always agree with Dyna either, and I don't always agree with Blake and he'll be the first one to tell you that, and I also don't always agree with you either !!

But I never take offense to things like that, I've never felt people/things are wrong or right, but simply different.

I'll treat anyone with respect and accept any differences, if they do the same for me !!

I hoped, and really didn't believe, you were involved CJ.

Involved in what, having an opinion and my own thoughts about stuff ??

Badweb is great, I love it and it's fun !! But that's all, it doesn't consume my life and I have a life so I don't spend my days or nights discussing or even thinking about what goes on here. It’s the freaking internet for heaven’s sake, how can anyone take that seriously !!

It’s so simple, whether you’re tired of it or not it’s Blake’s board. When I get tired of how he runs it or he gets on my last nerve, I quit posting and visiting the site, period.

It won’t make that big a difference in my life, it’s the age of technology, I have a cell phone and e-mail. It’s not like I’ll be cut off from anybody and stop riding, life will go on !!

If I get tired of it though and I start whining about it instead of doing the above, somebody please smack me silly !!

Mackay, are frame sliders something I would need, I have no plans to lay my bike down or even try and lean it way over, just ride ?? Is it something I can figure out how to put on the bike !!? Will they look good on the bike ??

CJ : )

Nope CJ, The frame sliders that I'm making wont work on XBs. They attach to the tubular frames of the older bikes.

Now, what I think *EVERY* XB owner should have, is these:

http://www.buell.com/en_us/bikes_gear/accessories/productslist.asp?Menu_ID=4&ID= 2171&MITEM=2083

I've seen so many XB's up on ebay, with the frame buggered up in exactly the same location as those frame pucks. Insurance companies will total your bike if there is almost ANY damage to the frame. That's how my brother got that XB9R for $3200. The frame is a tad dented, and scratched in that location.

If the original owner of this bike had the frame pucks, it would have been $125 fix for the upper tripple clamp. Instead of the bike being totaled out.

So I promised myself *NOT* to buy any more bikes until I build a real garage.

Yeah yeah... You're definately a good salesman Dave! If it weren't for Hals giving me the same 10% off, we'd be gettin' all our parts from you!

Ya know, spending $8500 on that bike would be upping our the average price for our bikes from $2916 to $3714 : )

So as much as that XB12s is a good deal, I'm too cheap : )

And besides, the next bike I get will most likely be an XB12SCG. So the wife can graduate to it when she gets some more miles under her belt on the blast. And anyone who was on BrewCity's last ride can tell you, it wont take long for Toni to graduate to a bigger bike. She's a natural!

And, I wont be able to have a garage built by April, much less afford to, after buying the bike : )

CJ,
Stop in at Hals, Racine, or call Dave to get the frame pucks : )

Dave had mentioned that those frame pucks are the #1 selling Buell accessory.

The frame you save, could be your own!

CJ, the best part of it all, is you could even install these yourself! : )

Mr. Scola (Rocketsprink),

Point of reference: The brief simple board policy to which all board users must agree before registering/participating in the forums states as follows:

quote:

You... hereby agree to honor without question any/all custodian/admin request(s) concerning the content or decorum of your participation on the board.

When anyone violates board policy by refusing to abide by admin or custodian requests concerning the content or decorum of their contributions on the board, the response will be swift and sure. That is the case for Greg, that is the case for everyone. Repeat offenders will be treated more and more sternly as warranted to protect the integrity of the board.

I have been in contact with the "Naysayer" (Dyna) and I believe he has been suspended.
Your belief is inaccurate. He is free to post at will as long as he agrees to abide by the simple board policy to which everyone else must also abide.

"I'm not sure if he has been totally banished."
Let me clear that uncertainty up for you. He hasn't.

"According to e-mails I was able to read, ALL the Moderators have been in deep discussions with Blake about Dyna horrible behavior."
That is horribly inaccurate.

"I think they're all nuts, but what do I know."
On this issue, not much that is honest or accurate.

"I'll probably get in trouble for this alone, but I don't really care."
How would you like me spreading what basically amounts to disparaging lies about you? Would that get me in trouble with you? Should I care?

"We are all supposed to be adults here and even though this is "Blake's site" I too am growing weary of the "I'm the Teacher all you 2nd Graders" attitude."
Your perception of what motivates board policy or my actions is egregiously inaccurate. I'll let my numerous contributions to this board and my efforts to maintain it speak for themselves. Unfortunately a few will always seek to deride the efforts of others who are in positions of responsibility.

"I think some people need to get off the power trip and grow up themselves."
You confuse fulfilling a responsibility with a "power trip." I and the other custodians are responsible for maintaining the integrity of this board as we deem most appropriate. We merely act to enforce very simple reasonable policy. It is no power trip to do so. It is an EXTREMELY aggravating investment of our free time that we would very much like to spend on other pursuits!

"Never said I believed it, but that is what an e-mail from Blake to Dyna said."
That is at best an egregiously inaccurate misinterpretation and exaggeration.

"Lots of other things as well, but a lot had to do with his "negative attitude" and things like the pictures he posts."
The phrase "negative attitude" appears nowhere in my email to Greg, nor was anything said about any pictures that Greg has posted. Your egregious mischaracterization of my email to Greg is grossly dishonest. The fact that he sent it to you and instigated this further argument is enough for me to ban him as I warned in the email. It would be thanks to you, if I do so.

"Isn't this the same person who started a X-mas fund for Blake."
Yes, and I would be the first to say that Greg exhibits some very positive behavior. That in no way gives him leave to violate board policy.

"I don't remember any of his Cronies doing that."
They know better. BTW, who do you perceive are my longtime friends or "cronies" as you put it?

"I don't always agree with Dyna, but I still don't like the attitude of "you can have an idea, as long as it falls in line with mine."
Neither do I. Anyone here is free and encouraged to express themselves on any topic in any stance they wish. What they are not free to do is to whine, naysay, complain, or carp in objection to board policy or the enforcement thereof.

Here's the bottom line. You and others like you must simply cease your whining, carping, and complaining about how this site is run, or you must cease participation on the board; one way or another, one of those two alternatives will come to pass.

Further argumentative carping, whining, complaining as to my actions or those of other custodians will inevitably result in the loss of your posting privileges as well as those of Greg (Dyna).

CJ,

Thank you for your calm reasoned response. I certainly couldn't have made it any clearer, "If I get tired of it though and I start whining about it instead of doing the above, somebody please smack me silly !!".
