I'm headed to Chino Valley right now. I'll be running through Phoenix around 5:00 heading back to good ole Maricopa. May have to pass on Callahan's tonight. I'm thinking I'd be a wreck by the time you get there Bart...hmmmm....3 hrs of beer drinking by myself...not good!

You came in through the spars? I left here about 11 headed towards wickenberg figuring I'd meet you somewhere and turn around to follow. About 11:45 I turned around and decided I had missed you. Oh well. Maybe next time : ).

I hadn't heard about it... I talked to a local detective about crime in general (I do the computer system for the YCSO). He said that there's a lot more than one would think, but because the powers that be are trying to attract the rich retirement crowd they keep a lid on things.

I'm all sorts of down with vigilante action on a rapist...

Hey M1, didn't you say you wanted an RC motorcycle? Check out the Quickboard for a link to a British website I found. This is an example of the bikes they have! There are some really cool videos too. Check it out!

REAL CHAIN drive!!!!

Looked em up... VERY cool : ). I have an O.S. 15 engine I could use too...

I followed a few of the links from that website and found that they have dual front and single rear disk brakes, USD forks, steering dampers...

VERY neat : ). They were saying that the cost is half of the cost of a buggy/truck too. There was one with a very trick looking tele-lever type front end and shaft drive...

As you can see, I have electric AND gas bikes. I even have a dirt bike!

Here are a few pics of my elec race bikes. (I used to race in my younger years)

This one is for sale:

They all have oil damped shocks front and rear, some have belt drive, and some have chain drive.
Some are for stunts:

No matter what you have, running an RC bike is just a GASSSSSSS !!!

The gas bikes are very much like a real bike. Disk brakes, carbs, damped shocks, etc.
Let me know if your interested in the sport. I'll roll out a few of my "toys" and we can play one of these weekends...

Cool : ). I've have an OFNA Pirate 10 stadium truck with a ported O.S. .15. Anti-Sway bars at both ends and setup for pavement racing : ).

The ported engine seems to have too much power for the flywheel/clutch though. I swapped to this engine from a normal O.S. 15 not too long after I got it and I have never been able to keep the flywheel from spinning on the output shaft. The local hobby stores haven't been much help as far as offering suggestions. I have tried torqueing it dow really tight and J/B weld so far and then lost a bit of interest. I have an Airtronics ?SL2P? controller. It came with a Futaba something or other, but I had an airtronics a long time ago when I had my Blackfoot so I had to replace it. I have spooled the center differential so I get 50/50 power distribution to the front/rear. I suppose if I take it out again I ought to take it all apart and grease it again.

I used to race 1/24 and 1/32 scale slot cars too and learned quite a bit about tuning electric engines. I had one that would do 74Mph.

Wow, funny the common threads we weave. I never raced gas, but I still loved the sport. We used to wind our own motors for extra zip, stronger magnets etc. I had an R/C-10 & R/C-10T and loved it. I've always wanted to take one of those GI Joe tanks and beef up the motor/trans combo to make it a real hoot! Ahh, the carefree days of old...

sounds like your hooking up to hard. How have you adjusted your clutch? Sounds like you need more slip!
My traxxes T-maxx uses a 2 speed transmission, and two slipper clutches. It has the OFNA .21 engine in it, from my Pirate. I've got it lowered and also offset the rims to give it a better stance. I have yet to roll it since I did this mod. I've never had problems with spinning the flywheel like you describe. even locktite doesn't help, eh?

I had a Kyosho 1/10th scale buggie about 15 years ago. I brought it with me to Tucson, but alas it runs no more and frankly I have no fricken idea where it is. My buddy in Maricopa were talking about the Traxxas trucks the other night. That prompted me to search for motorcycles.

Like Charlie says, funny how a lot of the same interests keep comig up! Now just don't get me started on basket weaving!

How can you hook up too good? I suppose you have a point though... I'm running those ?2.2"? wide streed tires AND 4WD. I think the truck was made for dirt racing so you probably have a point. I'll adjust the clutch and try locktite : ). The damn thing goes through a set of tires every 30 minutes or so : ).

After using locktite on the flywheel, how would I remove it? Heat? Great... That's just what "I" need to be mixing... Nitro fuel and a torch : ).

Its been in the shop for th elast week with a fried Stator, Don.

The clutch used in the trucks for offroad allow less slip then those used on the road due to the slip of the tires. See if you can find a clutch/flywheel setup for a road car and that engine. Are you using a plastic flywheel or a billet aluminum one? How much slip is set into your diffs?

Btw, you notice that pic of the Lotus Exige I posted after your Elise? That is an HPI Nitro RC car...: D

Yeah I noticed that : ). Nice looking.

That sounds about right. I have an aluminum flywheel (or I think it's aluminum anyway, certainly not plastic). I can adjust my clutch to three different settings. Quite frankly I always did just set it to the one that I figured would hook up the best... I'll change it the next time I play with the truck and let you all know : ). The diff's are torsens. The center one is spooled (no slip), and the front and rear are both 50/50 slip.
