Dan, What time are you going to working on your bike tomorrow (Monday)? I have a few things I have to do, but if they go smoothly I might be able to break free in the afternoon, and come help you out. If not Monday maybe another day, let me know, call me if you like.

It was good to see everybody today, Sam Boyd was actually warmer than LVMS when I arrived, but it did cool off latter. The band was pretty good, I didn't have any food, but the beer was cold. I didn't get wet today, and with proper gear the ride wasn't too cold, all in all I enjoyed it. I hope everyone else did as well.

Yesterday’s ride was fun. We got a little scattered when the ride began. Then during the ride we had a bit of the accordion effect happening. Hurry up and slow down. However in the end it was a good ride and we all linked up for lunch. I agree with Rich about the ride being short though. It was good to have met you guys and I look forward to future rides. ~Martin

Rich; Wish I could have been there and thank you for the support. My day went well on Sunday. Class A inspection in the cold... I will be there on Saturday. Bike is running good. A little dirty. Weather is supposed to be real nice in the after noon. Dress warm. Dan sorry to hear about your bike hopefully it will get fixed soon so you can get back in the saddle. Ok all I will see you all on Saturday. Dan do not forget you can always ride along in the chase car if you want. I know its not the same as a bike. I think there might be some room for you. John might be able to answer that better than me. Take care all and see you Sat.

I know it is a ways out, but we need some suggestions for January's meet/ride/event. Anyone got anything in mind yet? It's gonna be a bit cold for a really long ride at night I would imagine, but hey I am open for suggestions.

Nick,
Is that ride Sat or Sun? I can make if its Sunday. I'll be there for the SCS meeting. It is after all, right by my house. Give me a call and we can meet up somewhere to ride up together.

Jake,
Good to hear from you man. Depending on what is going on on Saturday at HHD, we might be leaving a bit later than 9:00am right? Or are we going at 9am no matter what?

Dan,
Give me a call by tonight if you do need a ride. I need to make plans on which car to take. But it is most definitely okay if you go in the chase car. See ya.....

Hey guys so what’s the game plan for the Kingman ride? Any particular reason why Kingman? I just made that ride in October and it was very unassuming bland. Once past the curves of the Dam it was just a big long straight away. I found my self with nothing to do but break the law and test top out speeds. =)

Jake: I read that your in the reserves or guard unit out here. What type of unit is it out here? I severed in the army when I was younger. (90’ to 94’) 1/504 PIR (1st Battalion 504 Parachute Infantry Regiment) Those were some fun days for me. Sometimes I miss the army lingo. Such as using the word “Hooah” as both a question and an answer, Hooah? “Roger that!” “He’s as tough as woodpecker lips” or “that course was harder than Chinese arithmetic”. And my favorite, “that sounds about as much fun as slamming my balls in the door way”. (ha-ha) So have you spent any time on active duty? If so what unit?

John,

Can't make it, I'm trying to get the bike in order. I can't get the effin clutch cover off, I'm going to try and dremel a groove into the bolts and use a flat head to get them out, that's my last idea before I drill them.

Dan, Did you try tapping the next size bigger torx socket into the screw with a hammer?

Sorry I havn't been able to get free to help,

I should try to get my tires mounted before I go out of town. The front one is looking pretty bad.

That is a common problem Burn.

I am not positive it applies to your situation on your bike, but on my Cyclone I had the exact same thing.

Put the other screws *back in* and then back them all out slowly going in a circle, going from bolt to bolt turning a turn or two at a time.

If you do the rational thing and just pull the screws out one at a time, the cover gets cocked, and the remaining screw(s) bind.

That was my first bonding moment with my Cyclone : )

You can also just drill the head off, pull the cover, and there will be a decent stub sticking out you can probably get with vice grips.

Good point Bill,
You must break each screw loose, then loosen each screw a little at a time until they are all free of the cover, besides binding removing them one at a time can warp the cover.
The same goes for reinstallation get them all started then all finger tight then all snug, then torque in a cross pattern.
This same concept should be applied to any part on your motorcycle.

Mike

John: Not sure which day it is. I'll have to check the SCSB calenadr again. I have no details at all! I'll see what I can find out when I go by LVHD to get my bike in the morning.

Martin: We are planning on meeting up with some of the guys from the Arizona side and that is a good halfway point. PLus, it is somewhat of a recruiting move for the BRAG chapter since that part of AZ doesn't have a Buell dealer or chapter persay. And.. it gives us a chance to go for some distance for a chance. We have some newer riders and this will be a good "learning experience" for them. We'll be doing some RR and Death Valley trips as well as some others. Like I said. I am open for suggestions. If ya know some good twisties that we could make into an afternoon long run, then by all means lets hear it. We'll make a day of it!

Dan: Not set on leaving at 9. If you are in a jam bro, we could wait a little bit. I would say 10 at the latest though.

First bolt I tried stripped out, so I didn't get a chance to go through all of them and do it the right way. It's just like tightening nuts on car tires. tried next bigger bit, still no go...I'm drilling them out tomorrow, got started today but it's alright. The only thing is getting all this crap off so I can order whatever part I need to get back on the road, I would have had it all off last week if not for ...appendicitis and rounded out bolts. Thanks for the tips guys.

I was planning on leaving no later than 10am on Sat. Owen and Jake time taken into consideration.
Why Kingman? Like Nick said it is a way to break some of our new riders in. Also the Kingman and Bullhead area does not have a Buell dealership or Brag group. That and it was a destination that was well within a after noon ride.
Ok January Jeff at LVHD would like us to meet and greet the staff at HHD. I was going to bring this up on Sat but what the hay. It is going to be a sit down and discuss what we want and need as a group. Not just the officers of the club. I suggested to Jeff we do it in Jan if any one has a better idea or time table let me know. The day that Jeff would like us to meet and greet is the 2nd Sunday not Sat. I am supposed to email him after our ride on Sat. Let me know what you all think.

I am with the 257th HET CO. It is a reserve co hear in LV. No active duty time, except when I was deployed last year. HOOHA is the best sound ever. It means everything. Good or bad. Can not beat the lingo of the Army. Like: I think I will Unass this AO and take the POV to the PX to buy some pogie bait. Or the gut truck was better than Chow Hall. One of my personal fav: The only time you need to worry is when the "pig" stops "barking".

On that subject: I got here back! MAs is it nice! I felt a little stiff after not riding for two weeks though.

See you all brite and early in the am! BTW: It was soo fricking hot today that I am taking the liner out of my coat tomorrow.
