Hmmmm..... The people who know all the details aren't telling me what's going on, so I have to make some guesses based on the last several archived pages both here and on the Uke's page. This converstaion sounds an awful lot like there were some requests to Uke's that went unfilled. So folks snuck out the back door to start a new club at Racine. Is this correct? (I think a new club in Racine is a GREAT idea, by the way.) What were the requests? Rocketsprink, are you saying that Uke's did, indeed fill the requests "and then some" after all? Now it sounds like noone even communicated the issues with Uke's. That can't be true, can it? SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT'S GOING ON!!!!!! | ||

Don, issues have been communicated to Uke's. I personally have brought up several different things in conversations with various dealer staff outside of our meetings. Of these things, most were not addressed. Among them were a lack of dealer representation at club meetings, being pushed out of the dealership 15 minutes into our meetings, difficulty (at best) in getting assistance in making club T-shirts (actually a lot of passing the buck and it's not my job go see so-and-so so you can be ignored type response), 6 months plus of being ignored related to getting a picture board put up, never did get a copy of the group riding video from Rider's Edge, short notice requests for "help" at dealer events, and then comments related to our lack of involvement when not "enough" people show, to name a few. I have brought up several of these issues in the past with no response. Also, it becomes increasingly difficult for the club, as a whole, to present the issues when there is no one from the dealership at the meetings (the last being the exception as someone was on hand to be sure to push us out as quickly as possible since Uke's is now on winter hours). To address the winter hours situation, it was recommended by one of the officers that we have the meeting off site in the winter--to which we were told that meetings needed to be at the dealership. As a new club is being started in Racine, and as I personally have my own reasons that I have chosen to no longer do business with Uke's that are unrelated to the club, I have chosen to become a member there. If there are those who do not feel the same, I have no dispute with them or their decision. As for informing Uke's as to what is happening and why, as a current officer, I will most certainly do that. In that no one here is making it impossible for Uke's to no longer have a club, it is not up to us to shut it down. Therefore, things must continue to run their course and let Uke's decide what they want to do for a club. That being said, officer elections were to be held on Tuesday, however, no names were on the ballot. Being the director, I feel it's my responsibility to then inform Uke's of this and allow them to address it however they see best and will certainly be doing that. To sneak out the back door, one must first be greeted at the front. | ||

Oh, and btw, if anyone here doesn't know about brew city brag's web site.... http://www.brewcitybrag.org I can also somehow figger' out to make a belle city buellers site, somehow integrated in there. With a seperate calendar module, but kinda integrate the coppermine module so we can share photos, and integrate the foums. That is, if you all are interested in belle's own little spot in cyberspace | ||

Uwgriz, Were you the one that also expressed interest in some frame/swingarm sliders? If so, I'd like a good pic of both sides of your bike, to visually see the difference in the frames between yours, and the '98s that we have. And don't worry Blake, I am making the frame sliders for cost of material ONLY! | ||

Yeah, I'm talking with Santa about some SE 536 cams, and so Jim's hydro-solid lifters I was gonna ask about an 88" kit, but decided it may be a bit big to fit thru the chimney Maybe if we have another meeting in Racine sometime during the winter, I can scoot over and take some pics. | ||

Steve the 98-02 S3 frames are identical.The only difference is one thing.The right side down tube is straight on the 98 where as the 99-02 is straight then has a bend,down so the header pipe can stay in the inside on the 99-02's. | ||

Then I'd have to say that whatever you make for your 98 will fit all tubers.The subframes are the only rear differences. | ||

Thanks for filling me in, Jason. I'm glad I have all the facts now. Boy, things sure must have gotten sour since last summer when I was regularly coming to meetings. I'm sorry to hear it. Kinda sad, huh? Personally, I was never treated with anything but courtesy and respect by the staff at Uke's. True, they could have done a bit more for the club, but we always knew that BRAG did not yet have the clout that HOG has (a couple hours at a Primary Officer Training will show you that, eh? - LOL!). If I re-up my BRAG membership this year, I will probably stick with Uke's (if there's still a club - lol). I figure I'll stay put until I have my own "personal" reasons to go elsewhere. Hopefully there's no hard feelings if I don't follow y'all. And hopefully, you'll still let me ride with you (on those rare occasions when I actually GET to ride!). Anyway, a Racine club sounds awesome! Go get 'em! | ||

Sounds logical to me uwgriz, a club can't force members to stay and if I stop going to meetings or stop being a member for whatever reason, I'm not obligated to tell anyone, unless of course they care and ask !! New club has nothing to do with it, no one is shutting down Uke's Brag club, some members may continue ! Good answer !! CJ | ||

No hard feelings whatsoever, Don. You and Kate and anyone else who decides to stay at Uke's is absolutely more than welcome to ride with the Racine group. And you're absolutely welcome to suppliment your Uke's membership with a Belle City one as well. If anybody feels otherwise, I would honestly be pretty disappointed. I think one of the things that's missing in a lot of the posts circulating is the fact that no one is asking anyone else to give up their Uke's membership. As I said before, I have chosen to not reup with Uke's, but if others do, I have no issue with that at all. For all I know, Belle City could be a big group and Uke's could be all of Belle City plus some and minus me. I can't tell others what club(s) to belong to and wouldn't even want to if I could. | ||

For the record, my original post was not met to incite a " hold the phone" attitude. I know some people have issues with Uke's that have nothing to do with the club, and it needs to stay that way. I, like Don, haven't had a problem with Uke's as far as being treated unfairly. Let's face one fact, I don't care WHAT Dealership has a BRAG Club, it will NEVER be treated like the HOG chapter. NEVER. But I also believe most of us know when to flee a sinking ship. Let's face it, as of now, there is no Uke's Club to belong to. If Uke's continues, I may join them as well. My main one will be Belle City, but until I have a personal problem with them, I will still deal with them. You know the old saying, "the grass isn't always greener on the other side". In this case, I hope it is. On that note, I say let the chips fall where the may. Let's start thinking about next years rides, a fresh start, new friends, Happy frickin' Holidays, and all that crap. Anyone need any help over the winter, let me know. I'm always willing to break something of yours or put a nice scratch in it. One more thing. I say if we notice any problems if Belle City is a go, let it be known NOW. Don't let it fester. I would also suggest the same to the Dealership.} | ||

As of right now I belong to 2 Brag clubs & will continue to do so for the future. The folks at Belle City are great as are those at Brew City. I want to see a combined club meeting with Dave from Appelton as well as whatever clubs are interested & see what rides, etc evolve from it. | ||

Brag clubs are small, and we are all in the same area, I know we'll all still ride together as usual !! It seems that multi-brag club rides are just a given, so everyone is going to be happy, happy !! CJ | ||
