They have a back door area? I might be getting confused again about which one of the several Waukesha shops we're talking about.

There is one shop off hwy-18 in downtown-ish Waukesha about a block from the river.

There is one shop, mostly dirt bike accessories, on the south central side of town next door to a Taco John's.

There is one shop down off hwy-164 or so somewhere near hwy-59 south of the Walmart a ways.

So, which one is All Pro again?
And if it's the one south of Walmart and if they have a dirty bike area in the back that's open to the public then I'm going back to look around.

I've been in the back/side room of the shop downtown Waukesha and seen some of the clutter of bikes that they stuff in there at times.

Oh well. Bill, this being the StormFront area, I think we are allowed to mention any shop name we care to name. WestBend H-D/Buell is apparently under new ownership this year. Went by there over the weekend, they weren't open so I didn't stop to see if anything is different in any sense at all. Had a trailer behind the car, brought a piano home, but that's a different story for a different time and place. ; )

(Now to sit back and see where this tangent leads to.)

That's what I thought, but the "dirty" comments had me thinkin' it was a different shop. The old used H-D shop on Main St. on the east side of town is now a hot tub store, otherwise I'd think he was talking of that one. I used to like another shop way over in Milwaukee on National but that one seems to be gone now as well.

All Pro is on Hwy 164 just a few blocks south of Hwy 59 or 4 miles north of Hwy 43.

Lake Country Power Sports is the one on the north side of Waukesha just a block or so off the river and they are a Ducati, Honda and Suzuki Dealer.

Road, Track and Trail is on Hwy ES just East of Hwy 164 and a block or so North of Hwy 43.

All Pro and RT&T deal exclusively in used bikes and I believe everyone else is a brand name dealer in the area.

I apologize if I over reacted to Dyna's comments. I am just tired of his propensity to not have anything good to say about anything that wasn't his idea on the BWB and, yes, I do know he is much nicer in person. I simply took offense to Dyna's snide comment about a place that myself and many folks have an excellent first hand relationship with in this market. In this scenario, suggesting another place where TeenC could go and get tires installed locally would have been a more positive approach.

In reference to Steve MacKay's observation concerning their pricing on Buell's. All Pro sells a ton of them each year. Not bad for a shop that wouldn't take one in for quite sometime as they just didn't sell. Well, now they are selling Buell's and at book prices which is a good thing as it helps preserve the resale value of our bikes. In the event you are looking to sell a Buell and don't want the hassle of doing it yourself and overpaying for a lot of advertising in the MJS, I strongly suggest you contact them as they can get you a better than average return on your investment.

No BS in anything I have posted about All Pro as I am one of their customers. I bought my Buell there with 500 miles on it and was able to negotiate a very good deal. Then again, that was a few years ago when you couldn't give the things away. Additionally, All Pro has done all the performance mods and dyno work on my X1 and all the service with the exception of the recall work and the 10.0K service. Can't be all that bad as the Wrench at Hal's that claims to have been Buell's engine line manager for 8 years (granted he may not have started out in that position) as well as a close friend who is an engineer at HD and was heavily involved in the Buell Thunderhead Project (you ought to feel the power in his daughters Sporty) both claim mine is one of the best they have ever ridden.

I like Hal's and have praised them in the past. Milwaukee HD/BMC is another that has really improved in the last year or so. I spread my parts and accessories business between the two based on price and availability. However, based on my personal experience and that of others, I am back to All Pro for the majority of service and preventative maintenance as I enjoy doing business with them and trust Mark Hanrahan with both my X1 and Wide Glide. And Yes, I will buy another bike from them.

If you have any questions, you are more than welcomed to email them to me as some things are not for discussion on the BWB.

I just talked to Paul from All Pro. He was really nice and said that I should bring it in and they would do the work while I wait. So far so good! I'm leaving right now, and I will let you know how they did when I get back. First impression is very good though!

See if you can get a look at the dirty bikes while there and report back on what you find. See if they have any old flathead or shovelhead Harley's in there as well.

And be carefull, the air is a bit moist and cool today and new tires are a bit slick.

Mike...What you are looking for can be found in Museums, Antique Stores and Old Barn's throughout the Midwest. I have the strong suspicion that you will be hard pressed to find one on a showroom floor. Yet, I wish you luck. Landing one of those would be a collectors dream. True Rolling Art.

Now watch. Just because I played up All Pro, everything in the world will go wrong for TeenC. Ewww...I pray it ain't so!

Bill,
Takes less effort and time to sit here punching the keyboard than driving around knocking on doors. Once I'm past December I'll be hitting the farms and fields and am certain I'll find one. And it is probably parked right now in a neighbor's garage just waiting for them to have a rummage sale and for me to spot the flat tire under the tarp behind the ShopSmith stuffed back under the attic/loft stairway.

I broke the addiction to BBs. It was not easy or pretty, but with support and medication, I'm BB free. They all live in my basement in 3 big rubber maid bins. Not sure what to do with them. There are a few I am keeping, the rest just take up space.

OK, I'm back! They did great. I had them put on a 180/55 and a new front, and they look awesome. I would definitely recommend All Pro to someone else. They even warned me that my rotors look like junk. I knew that already, but it was nice of them to warn me about it. They do not have a back area where they store bikes, and no it wasn't dirty. I even saw the shop and it looked nice. They have a yellow 99 X1 for sale with all kinds of stuff on it. New pegs, shifter, CF windscreen, and really cool clip-ons. It looked brand new, and it was just under $5000. As for older Harleys, I only saw two and they weren't that old, 98 I think. Nice looking bikes though. I paid 400 bucks for the tires and installation. I'm not sure if this is "too much", but the service was worth it.

Dyna...Why be part of the problem when you, with your infinite wisdom, can be part of the solution?

TeenC wanted tires installed asap. I suggested a place where I have purchased two sets of tires (the last set about three weeks ago), a bike and have had an excellent relationship with for almost three years.

Why do you feel it necessary to make rude, and in this case erroneous, comments about them when you could have simply made your own positive suggestion on where TeenC could go to get what he wanted?

Incidentally, it appears your knowledge of Lake Country Power Sports is lacking as well. Perhaps you should stick to making comments about dealerships you actually do frequent often and do business with.

Heck, I don't know anything about the dealers in your part of the State and would hope that if I asked a similar question someone that has done business with the local dealers could give me some objective guidance and not some misleading BS.

Kindly note, I am not over reacting this time. I am asking you to be considerate and help your fellow riders.

While I do agree outrider did over-react a tad. I do disagree about Lake Country also being filthy. I've been in there more times than I can count. And have ridden with two of the employees of Lake Country. Their "shop" is cluttered, but not filthy IMHO.
