Kinger,
I agree about the logo. It was just something I threw together last night. Finding that "old school" map of the Milwaukee area via google images, and grabbing the EPS of the Brag logo, adding some dropped shadows, and WOW, it turned out looking fairly nice : ) Trust me, I ain't no graphics expert... I draw pretty 3D models all day long(I'm a tool/die/mold designer), but never really did much of anything in the way of artsy fartsy stuff. But that one looks good as a start page... The Cad/Cam software I have now, has some pretty cool rendering and embossing functions, and was tempted to model up a beer bottle, and emboss a fancy Brew City brag label to it : ) Not sure if Brag corporate would approve of beer+motorcycles though.

Tripper,
Honestly, I RARELY drink. If I have a half dozen beers in a year, that's being generous. Hell I still had the majority of a case of Miller Light last summer that moved from our apartment to our house back in 1996. But my nephew drank that all up in a day.

But... Lienenkugal's Berry weis is GOOD stuff! As is Sprecher root beer : )

Lemme finish brewcitybrag.org, and gimme the name/email of your brag group's president, and we can work something out on a design/host of a website. I'm more than willing to do it.

Man your screen name is changing so much I don't know who you are half the time. Gonna have to get one of those tagline emoticon pics of your bikes to tag onto your posts pretty soon.

Tell me about it, hopefully Blake will get tired some day & I can revert back to being Dyna...until then tho, hows this work for ya?

Okay. I've got the main www.brewcitybrag.org site working now. It wasn't a MySql problem, just directory permissions that was making it not work

But still needs some MAJOR customizing, and the addition of the Calendar module. Don't try to register YET. The SMTP(mail server) server isn't sending out the invitations YET. I'll get that working tonight, along with attempting to get the calendar module working.

Hey Everyone!

I never knew there was a spot for locals to post. I usually only ask questions in the knowledge vault. I just thought I would say hello. Maybe I will see you on the road sometime.

Yup, it seems almost everything is working on the web site now. I've added a calendar event for the Nov 11th meeting, and a couple of photos to the coppermine photo gallery. : )

Each member has enough space to upload the equivalent of 500 4-5 megapixel images : )

Dyna,
Yeah, it's a typical PHP/POST/CPG-Nuke template. I still need to do a bunch of graphical enhancements. But for the most part, it ain't bad for a few hours of work.

The E-Card function from the Coppermine gallery even works! : )

Now, you guys and girls(see I remembered you CJ and Toni) tell me if you want a forum of some sort or not. It's not hard to setup...

I called Hal's today about having new tires put on my X1. Has anyone had any experience with them? I talked to someone named Kevin. All he told me was to bring it in and have it written up. He didn't mention how long it would take or how much they charge. Would I be better off going to a independent bike shop to have this done? I don't even know what brands of tire hal's has in stock! Any help would be appreciated.

I had a nail in my tire and did get a new one Hal's and had other work done with them, and I've been very happy !!

But you really need to call and ask them what the tire cost, labor cost, and what kind of tires they have that you might want and the cost of that too. Then ask how long it will take, seriously it's your money and time, ask up front don't take it then ask !! They've always been willing to politely answer my questions !!

Then call around for some comparison !! I usually call and get price comparison's and sometimes I just use Hal's because it's just easier for me with some things ! Like my tire when it was flat, they came and picked it up !!

T

they will likely replace what you've got with stockers (Dunlop 207s or their replacements)

as for time, cast, and like that, I'll bow to those more experienced with the shop than I

Suburban had a pair of Avons in their clearance/sale area in the parts area for a very reduced price. Not sure what they'd charge to mount them, not even sure what model Avons they were except that they were ordered for a 'tuber Buell and not wanted apparently when they arrived. It's been a few weeks since I was in there so I don't know if they're still available, you might be able to see them on their web cam though.

Otherwise, as far as dealer standard pricing goes, Hal's is relatively fair. You can do better by shopping online and taking the wheels off yourself and having a shop install your tires for you, or by taking the wheels off yourself and shopping sales at non-Buell dealers, but if you don't want to hassle with all that running around just go to Hal's and you'll be fine.

Can't quite see if they're still there, they were leaning up against the end of that folding table just on the other side of the counter.

Teenc...don't know where you are in Milwaukee but if you don't find a deal locally, call All Pro Motorsports in Waukesha. That is where I find the best deals on parts, time, convenience and professionalism. Just tell them what you want, when you want it and they will do their best to comply.

FYI, I just had new Dunlop 208's installed there. They were both in stock and they put them on while I waited. Not to worry though, if there is a different tire that you want they can get it in a day or three depending on the source and the price will be right.

I always have praised Hal's and still do except for what they have done to both my Buell and my Harley. In my eyes, a few folks at Hal's are worth dealing with but they do not represent the entire machine. Caveat Emptor. If you want to know more, ping me offline.

Thanks guys!

Outrider, I live in tosa, and I know exactly where All Pro is. That's a really good idea. When I called harley it sounded like they were too busy to deal with me. I like the sound of All Pro installing the tires while I wait. I guess I will give them a call tomorrow. If they can get me in right away maybe I will see you at TWT.

Thanks!
Andrew

Only problem with all pro is that I feel like I need a bath after I leave..definitely not a boutique shop.

TeenC...Gosh, I didn't know that Dyna did not give All Pro his personal stamp of approval. I apologize for even mentioning their name on this sacred website.

If this is a new policy on the Brew City Thread of the BWB, I would appreciate an officer to state the policies concerning mentioning dealerships other than Hal's on this thread.

Dyna...WTF??? It's a motorcycle shop, not Nieman Marcus or Bloomingdale's. The best endorsements All Pro gets is from Hal's KMC Hog Members that have seen the light. How do you think I found them?

The bath comment is really unkind. It is a used/consigned motorcycle shop that sells more Buells per year than Hal's and probably all the Milwaukee HD/BMC dealers combined. Not to mention, it is clean. If you want to feel like you're dirty, best find another shop to wallow in.

If anyone here wants to know more about them, go out and check them out. If you are considering service on your Buell, ask for Mark Hanrahan and tell him I sent you.

Note the use of the word "boutique" I utilized. Its most definitely not 1. Didnt say the place sux, just that its dirty....PS...go thru the rear doors & check out the area where they keep the older used bikes & sleds that they have for sale....NASTY!!!

So what? There are a lot of folks that buy the old stuff for financial reasons. Heck, might even be a first bike out there for a 16 year old that needs cheap transportation.

You want a 2004 R1 at a decent price, check them out. Oh, I forgot you already have one. Still, lots of nice stuff on their main sales floor we all wish we could have.

They do have a decent selection of bikes. I've been there a couple of times. While it's not spotless, it's not a filthy place either... Definately not the dirtiest shop I've been in. I thought their used Buell pricing to be a tad bit high though. But hey, I'm cheap : )

Anyway, I've never been to All Pro but hey I'd check out anything !! And anyway, guys should not worry about a bike shop being nasty, so what ?! Nothing wrong with a man getting his hands dirty !!
