Crotchety...LMAO!!!

Whew, glad I survived that stage of my life. Is all a part of "Male Menopause" and doesn't last long if you don't feed it. Just takes some time to understand it and work it out. Unfortunately, some folks just never make an effort to figure that out.

We were at Pine Bluff at around 10:30-11:00 IIRC. and left around noon. I didn't take too many pictures early on, I was too busy talking with several people about my S3T. Many said they've never seen one, and didn't know what it was.

Rippin, ya sure we didn't meet in Leland? I had the burgandy S3T, surrounded by one black S3T, another Black S3, and a silver S3. I looked at your profile. i think it was you I met there...

That is awesome Steve!!!!

Another e-bay purchase? My wife was thinking about taking the rider course next year but has decided not too due the plan for another King being in the near future. She doesn't want to take the class and then not get a bike and ride. I understand her point, but I was looking forward to the blue XB9R that she wanted!

Congrats again! Pictures???

Kinger, yup, another Ebay purchase : )

That's 4 Buells we've bought off ebay.
This XB9R needs more work however. But it was only $3200. It looks to me like someone tried to do a wheelie, landed with the bars turned full tilt. And broke the top triple clamp while fliping it over, and tweaked the rear tail section.

The forks *LOOK* good. But wont be able to tell until we pick it up next weekend.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=49984&item=249 3110929

If all else fails, and the bike is in worse condition than it looks, we'll just part it out, and still come out ahead. And use the body parts to create the carbon fiber molds I want to do for Buells.

So all together, we have 2 S3Ts, 1 Blast and 1 XB9R for $12,550 : )

I believe your right. I think you pulled right up next to us. There was an orange M2 by mine.

Sorry it was pretty wild day for us.

Yeah, it was wild for us too. You were telling me about the bazillion hours you've been working. I have too. I didn't realize you're another CNC guy. Goood thing I didn't know, or you're right, we'd have never gotten out of there : )

BTW, you got access to a CNC lathe? : )

Steve,

Yes we have an SL20 with 10' powerbar. What were you thinking? I don't run the '20 but I can have pretty much full rein. I spend 25% on ACad 2005, 60% on MasterCam and about an hour a day on the CNC floor keeping our guys in check. Except today I put in 7 hours on the floor. Training a new guy.

Any way let me know what you had in mind.

Just always looking for trading government jobs : )
we've(my brother and I) got access to a good 20 3 axis, and a few 5 axis mills just no lathes.

I too don't spend a lot of time on the floor these days. And usually not much steel these days. I cut graphite a lot. but spend the rest of my day drawing pretty 3D models all day : )

Just did my first "decent" length ride. Racine to Stevens Point. Not bad at all. Only issue worth mentioning is that the seat gets a little uncomfortable after a while, (S2).

Yeah, I switched to a '99 S3 seat on my '98, and it's still a little uncomfy after a couple hundred miles. The 98 seat, REALLY sucked IMHO.

Steve is right. The 99 and newer seat for the S3's is a huge improvement. I am really happy with the Corbin that I got for my bike. The first 1000 miles were pure torture. The next 1000 were better and the seat was pretty much broke in with around 3000 miles on it. Some of the discomfort is probably just conditioning as well. The first long trip of a year will always leave me a little more sore than I should be.

I hope to make the meeting but my wife has to work. So....I either need a sitter or we will have a very young (hopefully future rider) in attendance.

As far as helping doughnut, I think Steve and I have. There are other seat options for the S2. I know corbin made one, don't know if they still do. My main point was that if this was his first trip of any length, it was probably just a lack of conditioning. Stevens Point isn't that far, only about 200 miles. There and back in a day makes your saddle a little more sore. A lot of initial discomfort on a bike is due to the lack of that type of riding. I know that my butt gets sore even with the Corbin seat, which I bought more for the backrest than added comfort. I haven't ridden enough this year to be well conditioned for 300-500 mile days let alone weekends. Pretty disappointed in my mileage this year. Will have to try harder next year!

Kinger, which Corbin do you have?

this one: http://www.corbin.com/buell/s3gnl.shtml

or this one:http://www.corbin.com/buell/s3gnl99.shtml

I too am either going to get the corbin(mainly for the back rest, so the 'lil guy can start riding with us next year.) or I'm going to fabricate a back rest that attaches to the S3Ts saddlebag mounts.

And yes, Corbin does still sell the S2 seat
http://www.corbin.com/buell/thundergnl.shtml
http://www.corbin.com/buell/thundergun.shtml

Both are $219

Doughnut,
I forget where the original question was but I just went out at lunch and looked at the battery installation in the S2 and the battery terminals to point towards the rear of the bike. Thought for sure they pointed foreward like the M2, but nope - to the rear. Oh well. It does look like you could get a battery charger onto the starter terminal post without having to remove bodywork if the battery went dead, which is how I probably charged the battery in it once, I think, maybe, or something like that, unless I did it different, in which case never mind.

'scuse me now while I go try to figure out some other stuff.....
