The Tool Center on 300 W between 1700 and 1300 South may have them. If not, they can get it for you.

Hello,

Checking to see what other Buell riders there are in the Salt Lake City area. I know a lot of people that ride but none of them ride Buells. I haven't ever seen another Buell in town.

I'm sure there are other Buell riders out there.

Mike, just got back in town and saw your post. Try Googling up McMaster-Carr and order from them. They sell to the public and you do not have to be a business. They literally have anything industrial. I use them all the time from Ca. as they have plants in several places and that one is the closest.

On the other hand, if you know the micrometer size of the drill bit I can help. I have almost all the number and letter size bits but they are all loose and not numbered. Let me know and I'll mail the bit to you if I have it.

Bob and Jeff, I found them on the way to industrial supply. Stopped at Nut and Bolt Supply for some stainless fasteners for my truck and asked about the drills, they had them and they were only a dollar or so each.

Thanks for the offer Robert and the rest of you.

Travis, is Russ helping you out with that exhaust problem? Glad you found us.

A couple of Buellers pulled into the Mt. Green Sinclair today about 2:00 pm and I was just pulling out so did not talk with them. Anybody from here or know them? Two XB's, it looked like, and a third bike I did not recognize. Should have turned around but wanted to get back home after a great ride to Monte and back.

Hey Fellow Utah Buellers! So good to see there are a few of us in UT. My daily ride is a 2003 XB9, also working on a couple of project bikes. Looking for info on a girder front end for an M2 any ideas??

First of all, welcome aboard James, always glad to have a new guy around to share our Buelling experience. You're right about the canyon rides.

And sorry, not been into girder or springer front ends for quite a while since my last chopper/bobber many, many years ago but either someone else on here can help or maybe google up something. Sounds like an interesting project though. What are you looking to build exactly? I would have gone with my M2 toward a cafe style bike but sold it to get my 1125R. Let us know and again welcome aboard.

For anybody interested, here is a response from a spokesman for MMP on the upcoming AMA Superbike season:

Your Message: To: Derreck Degraff; Utah Buellers Group is wondering if you will be hosting the AMA & WSB races this year on Memorial day. We want to get early bird tickets. Also I have your phone number but will you confirm it. Thanks much and Merry Christmas. Bob Thompson, Riverdale, Ut.

And his response:
Robert,

We will be hosting the AMA Superbikes(Aug 3-4, 2013) as well as an AMA motocross (Aug 17th, 2013) . However, we will not be hosting the World Superbikes this year. Our best deal we have right now is season tickets for $125. If you just want a single event just give me a call and we can talk about what works best.

Thank you,

Derrek DeGraaff
435-277-8622

This a change from the last few seasons where these races were held on Memorial Day weekend and, no WSB this year. At any rate I hope to see some of you there in August this year to cheer on EBR and their great and very competitive 1190RS. Also you can call Derreck at that number and get "early bird" discount tickets and be sure to mention Utah Buellers Group.

Awesome, thanks Bob!

Welcome James.

My memory is not so sharp lately but I seem to recall some European Buell owners' pics with someone having a similar front end to the Confederate Hellcat. I'm off work for a few days so I'll try and find pics for you.

Not sure how many of you ride south to Arizona, we have a small rally every year we call the SpringFast event. Going into it's 9th year now. Would love to see some of you Utah folks down here to enjoy some of Arizonas finest curves. HWY 191 from Alpine, AZ down to Morenci, AZ. Makes the Dragon look like a puppy tail

The dates for the 9th annual SpringFast in Alpine, AZ are: MAY 17, 18, and 19, 2013.

You can make reservations through the Tal Wi Wi lodge, in Alpine, AZ at: 928-339-4319.
Mention that you are with the SpringFast group.
Any questions you can email me at: Buelligan63@gmail.com

Hope to see you there!

Bump, anyone think they'll be able to do this? We have our Four month rotation coming around in May, I need to get the date for that so I can figure out if it's even an option for me.

about 10 rooms have been reserved so far, out of, I think, 30 total. (one room has a jacuzzi).
Looks like about 12 riders from New Mexico, 4 from Colorado, and about 5 from Phoenix so far...
So, obviously, some still need to make reservations. Some are also looking to share rooms if that works for any of you.
Would love to see more Buellers, but the ride is certainly open to ALL brands.

Ride to lean!

I'm still trying to swing the time off to ride to WI for Homecoming. Don't think I can swing both trips so I'm all in for Homecoming... if I get approved for the time off

What's everyone got going on this year? I'm riding the old bike primarily as a commuter, the XB is parked and out of registration again, though she's got fuel stabilizer in there this time, so hopefully there will be no ill effects from this.

Mike, just saw your post. I have not been on here in a while as not many people are posting but glad to see your still around.

Not too much going on with myself and the family. Just maintaining an older home (keeps me pretty busy) and trying to ride every weekend, weather permitting. Staying pretty close to the house on this busy weekend but I'm trying to get in an afternoon ride, after church, tomorrow. Just a short spin around Pineview and maybe up to the overlook on Monte; always nice.

Are you going to Millers for the AMA SB races in Aug.? Hope to see you. Stay safe, Bob

I hope to go to the races in Aug, taking a bunch of time off in June and July to spend with my daughter. With time off I'll not have much opportunity for overtime, and may not be able to get tickets. Time will tell.

Pretty much just you, me, and the crickets 'round here these days.

Mike, how's the bike selling going? Looks like one might be sold and are you going to get something different if you could sell both? Just wondering as you are and have been a really great Buell enthusiast.

Talking to one of our other Buell brothers, Brandon Meyer who has two XB's, it looks like he's selling both of his also but won't tell me what he is planning. I get a little indication though, if he could, he'd buy a new "street" R1190RS if they were priced right. Just about overkill (pardon that expression), for the street though; my 1125R is a handful, power wise) on the street. Much discretion needed with it.

Keep us informed and lets hear some others input on EBR's new 1190. Stay safe all, Bob

Well I've taken a deposit on my XB, I've gotten a few calls and texts on the Cyclone but none that are serious. Checking NADA my price on that bike isn't realistic, but it's had a lot of work put into it. Once the XB is gone we'll probably just pull the listing on the old bike and keep hanging on to it.

I sure wish EBR could put something new out for the everyday consumer, but this is a tough market and who's to say what they'll be able to do?

I'd like to be riding a more practical bike right now and had hoped to sell the old bike and pay off the 07, but it doesn't seem like it will be working out that way.

I hope everyone is well. and riding safe!

After I wrote my last post I went on the Buells For Sale page and found your bike, that is a great looking bike!!I'd buy it myself if I could, but I'm thinking about selling mine so adding another bike to my stable wouldn't be a good idea.

Thanks Robert! Sorry I didn't get back to you on your question.

NADA says $3200 is the high book value, regardless of miles or performance mods for my Y2K. I will never get what I put into it back out of it... best option is to keep it, and that way I get something out of it at least.

A 97 isn't likely to fetch a lot, depends a lot on your buyer though, finding a [Buell] educated one is key for getting the best price. Decide how much you want, list it and be patient. I've pulled mine from ksl today, I may list it again in the future, but I'll ride it a little longer for now.

Well, I'm still here guys. Anybody else?

Not too much activity here all summer except for a few of our regular posters. Hope all is well with everyone and you got some good riding in this past summer. No big get togethers for me but I road almost every Sat. or Sunday somewhere. Usually in one of these northern canyons. I am still on my 1125 and enjoying it more every day but time is catching up with me. Looking forward to yet another year of riding once spring arrives but it seems like a long way off right now.

I hope everyone has a very special Christmas and a Happy New Year and I see some of you on the road this coming year. Stay well and stay safe all. Bob

Sounds like a good time Bartimus. I hope to have better luck getting out on my bike this year, and meeting up with other Buell riders.

Gotta pull my tranny out for a gear replacement, second gear is what it sounds like... one of the other officers at work was a harley mechanic for a number of years and is going to sit in on the tear-down with me to make sure I don't bung it up... this all must wait in line for me to swap out water pump, fuel pump and various other old bits like motor and transmission mounts on the 91 F150 I bought in 2012...

I did hear from Dora (Buellgrrll or something like that) she was looking for a transportation company to move her bike to UT for her, so if anyone knows any good transport companies please share. She's up in Park City fairly often I guess.

That's about it for me, trying to study up for a promotional exam in Feb, so I gotta get back to reading policy.

I've had good luck with uship.com.
It's a shipping site that you puts what you have to ship and where from and to. Shippers than bid place bids for your business. You can view their offers, and check their feedback from previous customers.
I shipped my Uly from AZ to PA I think for about $350. Bike was safe and sound when it arrived. Also shipped a sportster to NH. Same service, low cost and good service.
Good luck with your tranny, and the truck.
:-)

Glad to see at least a couple of guys around yet. Thanks Bart for the update again on the Springfast ride and Mike; hope all goes well with your trans. rebuild. If either of you hear from Dora ask her to check out our little group here at Utah Buellers when she comes in. Mike, lets try and get a ride in together sometime this year so let me know later, with fair weather, when you can get some time for it. Maybe Robert Polster (Saxon59)can make it too. You here Robert? Later, Bob T.
