Yay! Bonneville is done and life is slowed to a normal pace.
Cil did 160 and almost beat the record, the other bike got in the books at 150.
Nothing broke the whole week!!! My headwork passes another test!

I'll be putting Loretta on a lift soon to R&R the rotor nut, change oil back to 20-50 and replace the fuel pump ass'y.
Hoping that will cure the noise and loss of power I found on the dyno in May.

I'm envious of y'all that got to go places and do things this Summer.
Next year...

Zack

Great job Zack and I'll bet you're looking forward to a more normal life. I hear getting ready for Bonneville is quite the job.

Dan and I haven't done a lot of riding this year with me going back to school and taking a summer course. We did get out on our 2 week excursion to Oregon and saw some beautiful country. Our trip to Idaho was cut short due to the fires up there. All the roads we wanted to ride were closed because of the fires. We had a great time. did some off roading with the ATV and got real dirty. It was incredibly dry up there.

We are planning on doing some dirt biking tomorrow just for the day. JOHN?????

A few of us are going to get together for a ride to Pikes Peak Raceway for the final MRA races of the year on Saturday. We will meet at the Conoco in Morrison with kick stands up at 9:30am. We will take the long way thru Conifer, Deckers, Woodland park, Colorado Spring and south to the track near Fountain. Scott is planning a after race Barbeque after his race. If you are interested in joining us, please post or let me know.

Hi all,
I'm still trying to figure out the flow of this BBS structure... So, I'm hoping this is a good spot to do an intro.
I'm Greg, I live in Westy and drive to Lakewood every day down Wadsworth, so you will probably see me if you frequent that neck of the woods.
I picked up an 02 M2 last week and am still getting it sorted out. I'm not sure when I will get it on the road because the kid before me put a straight pipe on it. I did 60 miles yesterday w/o ear plugs inside my lid and almost went deaf.

So, question one. Where do you all like to take your bikes for work? I ordered a new front tire and need it swapped and balanced.
I would normally swap the tire but don't want to mess up the wheel.

Pure, that's me, I do my work too... I'm not comfy with the wheel not getting scratched and my balancing isn't worth a darn. My tire should be here by the end of the week or next Monday. Who is your guy? I'll take the wheel to him.
I'll keep an eye out for you. Like I said, I won't have this beast back out till it is quieter. I like my neighbors.

I'm going to play with suspension settings too, it's a bit too high and is kind of squirrelly feeling. I'm not the type to drop a knee though. I still want to take a Pettiford class.

Thanks

Hey Greg - welcome to Buelling and BadWeB.
I took my last tire to Epic at Hwy 52 and I-25, they charged me 20 bucks but balked at installing a used tire.
They are across I-25 from High Country.
I had a near-new Scorpion for my Uly I needed mounting.

I worked at High Country for 3 years in parts, but I'm a tech - mech/elec, and that got boring.
I port/polish XB and Sportster heads for Dan at NRHS now.

Thanks Zack.
I understand getting tired of the tech work job. I did the rock crawler thing for about 12 years. I built custom suspensions, rock guards, engines, trans ect out of my shop for 5 years. I had just finished putting in 40 hrs on an XJ - custom 8" longarm and went out in my rig only to break the tranny in half. That wast the time I did anything again, I sold everything off.

I'd say your work is pretty good looking at those torque/HP curves on the NRHS page. I looked at one of the 1250 kits when I had my sporty...

Side question for you guys. Has any of you ever tried to make your own shift lever? I don't like the stock M2 one and think I can do better...

Memories...

I am not in Colorado anymore, but may head that way in the spring/summer for a long ride. Still have lots of family there.

This will date me, but I remember when Wadsworth was a dirt road north of 80th... Took my Bultaco up that way all the time for some fun.

Oldmule -

Try to locate a shifter kit # 49074-01Y.
It was an accessory kit Buell offered to replace the "boomerang" shifter.
Original list price was 148.00

<edit>I'll see if I can find a pic of the whole jig. Not a hard setup to build really...

Yes, Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to all.

Dan and I will be getting into dual sport riding this new year. I traded my little Kawasaki 140L dirt bike in for a Yamaha XT250 and Dan fixed his Kawa KLX450 to be street legal. Will be getting plates for his bike in the new year and then we'll be set to ride both on and off the streets. Looking forward to exploring the back country of this beautiful state on the new dual sports. : )

Be safe this new year and hope to see ya when the weather warms up.

Happy new year folks! I'm iced-in still but 40s next week!

Busy as hell, buried in heads.
Hope everyone has a little more work than they know what to do with...

Nice looking bike Julie, I take it you can tip-toe it?
Wish my Uly was that light.

Off to work-
Later : )

Hi Zack, yes indeed, I can tip-toe on this one (just like the 1125)!!! It is a bit heavier than my 140L tho, it weighs about 285# wet. So I'll have to practice picking it up when I drop it in the dirt. ; )
