Mobbers...

I came across something that I hope I did not make a mistake on. To get something I needed I had to buy the lot.

Anyway... I now have 3 pair of new in the package never been opened... etc. Napoleon bar end mirrors. The same mirrors I have on my XB. They retail for about $66.00 a pair... might be able to find them a bit cheaper... but remember sales tax and or shipping costs.

I have 3 pair I can sell for $50.00 a pair to break right on what I did. Anyway... if you want a pair call me... I also pinged the gang at the BMW club... so first come first serve.

816-935-1836

WHAT A DEAL... I wish I coulda bought the set on my XB for this price!!

cool mirrors

I rode the X1W to work tonight down in Lenexa, bike ran good, but I think I pulled my kickstand kill switch wire loose in the process of putting the Buell back together with the new hanger.
I suspended the front of the frame from my house main beam in the garage with a couple of ratchet tie downs, used a floor jack to position the engine right where I needed it. My buddy Randy working on one side and me on the other got the thing back together in time for me to ride it to Lenexa from Metro North for work.
I saw a yellow Buell headed south on Pflumm by the railroad tracks in old town about sundown.
I saw a red XB12 at I635 and Metropolitan on my way to work at 6:00

Yea your right Rich, maybe one of them can run the camcorder. hehhehe.

Anyway, Bike is sold to a much younger man than me, I will be Buelless for a while (sniff-sniff).

The garage doesn't look the same without a S1 sitting there.

I am trying to decide if the XB9SX is for me or just go with the XB12S I cant make up my mind. Also I was wondering if anyone had heard if there is to be a new model next year, or is Buell letting the XB's run the market for now??

Got arrested yesterday.... bike is in the impound lot! This was the first time I had gotten it out in at least six weeks (no time, out of town).

my signature "wheelie in the rain" did it for me.

nice little wreckless driving charge..... I'll let you all know how this pans out.

hope you are all doing well.

I wonder if it went like this...

Red lights and siren...

Sam pulls over...

Officer runs computer check on tags... notes that there is a tag associated to the registered owner of this bike with the personalized license of "ARRESTME"

Officer walks to the bike pissed he has a guy wheelie in front of him IN THE RAIN... doesn't like getting wet!

Officer..."Sir may I see you license, registration and proof of insurance?"

Sam... "Yes sir!"

Sam digs for 20 minutes to collect the requested from three different places, officer now dripping wet! Officer returns to car and runs Sam for warrants!

Officer returns to Sam with the intention to chew a** as his pen and ticket book are too wet to do any writing.

Sam looks over his shoulder at the officer... gives a winning smile and says... "Ya know officer... I have a buddy who is a U.S. Marshal."

Officer now wet and his face is beet red... "My wife ran off with a Marshal... and took my dog too. I HATE feds! OFF THE BIKE A**HOLE AND LAY FACE DOWN IN THAT MUD PUDDLE!

Sam is cuffed... dragged back by the ankle to the police car... and tossed in the trunk! A tow truck driver arrives who just had his wife run off with a guy who rides a sport bike!

Sam rethinks saying anything about knowing Dennis!!!

bike is in the impound lot!

They impound your bike for a wreckless charge in KS??? You didn't think about running??? OOPPPPSS forgot you live in KS, no curvy roads to loose them on! : ( They don't even try to catch sportbikes in this area, unless you are in the middle of town.

You going to have that bike out in two weeks?

Keith

p.s. I bet the wife is real pissed right now! All that money going to the state and not on her cravings of twinkies, Ho Ho's, and licorice!

Sam getting arrested, bike impounded, PRICELESS!!

Sam gets arrested... Part II

It's dark and it smells very bad in the trunk of the patrol car, there is a hint of a smell Sam can't identify... but it makes Sam's eyes burn a little. Sam will know later exactly what that smell is! Sam notes a maintenance issue with the patrol car... exhaust leak into trunk. Sam remembers reading about a rear end collision of a police car where the gas tank exploded into a ball of flames... and Ford doing a recall on all police package LTDs. Sam wonders if the recall had been done on this particular patrol car. Sam thinks he smells gasoline!

Though very dark... Sam realizes... just like someone who is blind... his hearing is very acute! Sam hears a tow truck arrive...there is the sound of boots on the gravel shoulder... there is a conversation between the officer and the tow driver... Sam can't hear much, but there is back slapping and much laughter. Sam makes out a little of what is said ... something about hating feds... and something about the tow driver hating guys who ride sport bikes.

Sam hears the tow truck start... Sam realizes that the tow driver must be about to hook up is prized possession... his XB. Sam hears the tires of the tow truck spinning in gravel and the tow driver laughing... and he hears a big "clunk" and then a "thud". The tire spinning and gravel throwing sounds have stopped. Sam hears the crunch of boots on gravel on the shoulder after hearing the tow truck door open, then close. Sam hears another set of foot steps in the gravel shoulder from the police car. Sam hears snickering... then the tow truck drivers speaks. "Gee officer... it seems the pretty sport bike has fallen over!" More snickering... the officer speaks... "Wow... must have been a defective kick stand!" More laughter!

Sam hears the winch running cable out. The tow driver speaks. "Gee officer... I have to figure out how to tow this pretty sport bike... and I don't have the flat bed truck today... any suggestions?" The officer speaks... "Just run the cable through both wheels and lift it up! More laughter! Sam hears the winch again... his XB is being lifted by the wheels... Sam has visualized his XB hanging high above the pavement like a big fish after a prize catch. Sam is very wrong. Sam hears the winch stop... more snickering... the crunch of boots on the gravel shoulder... the tow truck door open... the door close... and the tow truck driver yells "Hi Ho Silver, away!" Sam hears his XB being dragged behind the tow truck! Sam hears the officer laughing!

Sam is in the fetal position in the hot, smelly trunk of the police car... Sam is mumbling something about wishing he never met Dennis... Sam may need months of counseling. Sam has been traumatized! However, Sam does not know that the traumatization has only began!

The officer... whistling a cheerful tune... enters the car... says something about fu*king feds... spins out in the gravel on the shoulder. On the trip into the station... the officer swerves to hit every pot hole he can find. The officer laughs every time he hits a pot hole. The ride is now smooth. Sam thinks the pot hole problem is over. Sam hears the officer speak... "Oh sh*t... a dog has run out in front of the car!" The brakes on the police car lock... Sam is slammed into the front of the trunk. The officer laughs again... accelerates hard... Sam is slammed against the back of the trunk from the acceleration. The officer speaks again... "Utt oh... another dog!" The brakes lock again... more laughter. Sam counts exactly eight dogs running in front of the police car on the trip to the station!

The trip to the police station took 45 minutes. The trunk opens... a police dog jumps into the trunk... the trunk is again closed... more laughter from outside the trunk... sounds like several people laughing. Sam is worried the dog is going to bite him... the dog doesn't bite him. The dog is humping Sam's leg! Sam would rather have the dog bite him! The trunk opens... the dog jumps out. The officer speaks... "Sir, please calm down!" Sam is confused... Sam is doing nothing but lying in the trunk. The officer speaks again... "Sir, don't try to kick at me again, when I open the car door!" Sam is motionless in the open trunk... the officer is standing four feet from the police car, looking into the trunk! The officer speaks again... "Sir, don't force me to use this pepper spray!" The office sprays the full can of pepper spray into the trunk. Several people are hysterically laughing... but the laughter did not start until someone said... "OK, the dash cam system is off... there is no more recording of the audio!" Sam's face feels like it is on fire. Sam suddenly remembers he was stopped six blocks from the police station! Sam can now identify that faint smell that made his eyes water a little when he was first placed in the trunk! There is no doubt in his mind... it was pepper spray!

Several hands reach into the trunk. Sam is out of the trunk. Sam is face down looking at a greasy concrete floor. Sam hears several people in unison say "Oops!". Sam lands on the aforementioned concrete floor. More hysterically laughter! Sam is dragged by the ankle into booking. Sam thinks the end of this all is near, he will be making bond in a few minutes. Sam has enough cash on him to make bond, without calling someone. The officer speaks to Sam... "Sir, would you like to make a telephone call?" Before Sam can answer the officer says... "Too fu*king bad... the phone just broke!" Sam looks around... the booking room is empty. The officer speaks to Sam again... "Wow... it sure is busy here today (no one in the room but cops drinking coffee, eating donuts, and laughing), it might be a couple of hours until it is your turn to be processed!" The officer is again snickering. The officer speaks again... "You are gonna have to wait in this holding cell until it is your turn!"

Sam is dragged into a small room. This small room has no bars. This small room has no lights. This small room smells dank. This small room has a wet floor. There is another smell in this small, dark, dank room. At first because of the pepper spray Sam can't identify the smell. Sam suddenly realizes the smell is that of a wet dog. The dog is once again humping Sam's leg. When ever Sam tries to move away from the dog, the dog growls and humps faster!

Four hours and 35 minutes later the door opens. The officer speaks to the dog. "Thor, come boy... sorry Mister Minnich, no pun intended! (laughter from all those in the room still drinking coffee, Sam also sees several empty donut boxes on a table, and an officer entering with three more dozen). The officer speaks again, this time to the group of officers in the booking room... "Someone get a cigarette for Thor!" More laughter. The officer speaks to Sam... "It looks like it is your turn to get booked... let's see, I get off at 5:00, this shouldn't take more than two hours!" Sam sees a clock on the wall, it is 3:00 PM! The dog eats a donut!

Sam knows he can make it two more hours, but Sam can't figure out how it can take two hours for him to be processed and to post his bond. Sam doesn't watch TV, but he reads the news paper and magazines, like Time and News Week. Sam thinks he recognizes some of the officers... but not from them being in police uniforms. Suddenly Sam remembers. They were wearing desert tan camouflage... they were in photographs in both Time and News Week... they worked in the detention center holding the POWs. They were the reservists charged with abusing the war prisoners and of taking photographs in degrading poses. A female officer enters the room with a pack of cigarettes, a Polaroid camera, and 12 packages of instamatic film. The female officer looks like the sister of Jaba the Hut in Star Wars! Sams asks to be put back in the janitor's closet with the dog! Someone in the back of the room says... "Take off your clothes boy... we only have a coupla hours... and lots of photos to take! Someone go get the jumper cables!""

This two hour time period of Sam's life just before he was allowed to make bond, has been blocked out of Sam's mind. Sam can remember nothing after 3:07 PM, but remembers the last thing said by someone in the room was "Hand me the stun gun!". Sam remembers nothing after that, but his first memory after that was him looking at the clock and it was 4:59 PM. He remembers being pushed out the door, and some one saying... "Sorry Mr. Minnich... but it seems the paper work at the tow lot got lost, and until it is found you won't be able to have the bike released. It shouldn't take more than three or four weeks!" He then remembers hearing laughter and someone else saying... "Man that's gonna be a storage fee, the tow lot charges $55.00 a day storage." Another officer says... "Now don't you forget to show up for your court date!" Sam realizes that he has not been told when his court date is docketed. Sam asks... When is my court date, no one has told me and it is not on the ticket!" The same voice replies... "Don't you worry your pretty little head about the court date... we will send a couple of officers by your house the day after the court date, so you can post bond for failure to appear!" More laughter from the group of officers.

As Sam walks out of the lot to walk home, the arresting officer drives by him on his way home after a long grueling day and says to Sam as he drives by... "Have a nice day Mr. Minnich... come back any time! Hey, tell you what... I bet I will see you the day after the court date you are going to miss!

Sam hears a dog barking behind him. He thinks he hears the dog running towards him. Sam thinks it might be a good idea to run instead of walk home!

Next meeting there might be a motion from the club treasurer to allow an expenditure to cover towing and ticket costs... since I am sure Sam was on "Club Business" when he was wrongfully ticketed!

We can picket the city court on his court date with signs "Free Sam Minnich"!

Of course I might be worried it may get out that there are free sammiches at the court house and all the homeless people will show up for a free meal!

Free sammiches... I am up for that... someone be sure and bring some beer too!

Richie,
Sam planned the route we rode lastyear. Why don't you see if he still has a copy of the roads. If he does not, I still have a copy and I can post it here for you. I'd still contact Bob though, seems John bought a new bike and they may be wanting to try her out on a roadtrip.

I tried to get a price on having some patches embroideried. 2" round, says "Willie G's Stepchildren arched across the top in bright red, BUELL and the Pegasus head in the middle in bright blue, and V-Twin American Motorcycles arched along the bottom in black all on a white background. I got an email from the guy with the embroidery shop telling me he has recently had a religous epiphany and can not print any bad words. That's ok, the filter on this site won't take it as a whole word either.
OkeeDokee
I will keep looking for someone to make these up and if successeful, I will have some for sale.

Sam, you scare me dude!
I probably would have at least ticketed you, but not impounded the bike, kind of God's way of telling you to cheeel there

Digger, I don't run unless it's a park ranger(those guys give big fines).....

I was laughing yesterday morning when I was being detained, I was laughing when my brother picked me up, I was laughing when I told my wife...... It has since gotten a little less humorous.

to the tune of five hundred dollars today getting everything in order for an attempt at saving my license.....Lawyer, bike bond, and "storage fees"... nearly a fist fight and another run in with "the man" at the tow lot. Seems they liked the bike so much they didn't want to release it after I had paid and cleared paperwork. My wife thought the tow lot guy was going to blow a gasket....I think I just needed someone to vent on,.... he must've too!

As of right now it's going to be a waiting game, Court date is Sept. 8, and then I will find out whether I need to get one of those "work at home" stuffing envelopes jobs for the next year or so. home brew-master and taste tester may appeal to me a little better, probably won't even care what it pays!

I got home tonight about three minutes before my wife, I am standing in the driveway with a cigarette and my first beer, she gets out walks right up to me and smacks me upside the head. "you dumb bass, what the hell is wrong with you?" then I get smacked again....." I was talking to my mom on the cell phone and started screaming....she was asking me what was wrong and I told her......he just got his bike back from doing wheelies and he's doing wheelies again" I guess I wasn't far enough down the road when I cranked that one off.....she was still within viewing distance

So I tell her, "dear I may have been moping around with my tail between my legs but they haven't castrated me yet".....seems to have worked cause she said she doubted this would be the last time.....and she still liked me. alot.

The dog really wasn't that bad at least she was a licker......probably the smell of fish, left-over from inner-tubing enemas in the Pacific Ocean last week.

Dennis, that really made me laugh....when that elevator gets to the top floor.....jump, it's more fun leaving

Sam...

If there is anything I can do, let me know... be it vent or whatever... just call.

I guessed that was about the price it was gonna be... I was hoping points was not gonna be an issue. Glad I made you laugh... I figured you could use a chuckle or two about now!

I am scared sh*tless of triple digit speeding ticket, not sure if it would be the fine, or the telephone call to my boss (and me in my bosses office) that I worry the most about. Yet still I like to see big numbers between the curvy parts. It would go something like this... Boss, "Dennis you should know better" my response... "OK ...and your point is???" About that time it would get ugly! If it is our lot in life to be a bad example... so be it! Right bud?

Tripper, at 5:30 I was still going rounds with the tow lot..... Damn sorry I missed that visit! The infraction occurred in Leavenworth county, within a couple of blocks of the state pen (my next home).

I've already talked to a few people who've gone through similar situations (local stunt teams) and all of those individuals were able to purchase the necessary reprieve....I hope that opportunity presents itself.

Richie, I still have about ten copies of the route already printed and a county by county atlas of Arkansas you're more than welcome to use...... give me a call @ (913) 2444195 if you want them....my weekends are pretty full until Sept.

I got a local embroidery company who can make the patches for me and also screen printed t shirts.

White background on a 3" circle or oval
"Willie G's Bassteard Stepchildren" in red letters across the top arch (word altered for filter)

BUELL and a Pegasus in blue in the middle

V-TWIN AMERICAN MOTORCYCLES arched on the bottom of the logo in black

Final cost on patches will be $8 or $10 delivered by mail to you unless I can get enough interest to do a whole lot of them, I am guessing T Shirts will be $15 or $20

patch sounds good, would sound better if you spelled correctly.

ah, I see why you spelled it that way! Our language is now being censored here on badweb.
