I'm guessing the Honkster is in full "Blackline" mode: that's polishing, primping, and getting ready to be seen.  Been some nice days for riding lately as I prepare for another attempt at the TAT. One hell of a good day today. They don't come around like this too often so I am truly thankful for it. Got my first long ride of the season in today and the bike absolutely purrs like a kitten. The intake, exhaust, cams, really brought the bike to life and I have to say it sounds better than most Harleys here in the Valley. Not obnoxiously loud, just a mellow, smooth rumble. If that wasn't enough, Got home early enough to take my youngest daughter shooting and we had a blast burning up close to 400 rounds of .380, .45ACP, .40S&W, 5.56, and .223 ammo. Howdy Nuts! Have a lot going on as of late. Ball season is in full swing with both kids playing, me and the wife are on the final push before college graduation in May, riding the motorbike as much as I can, nursing a torn rotator cuff, and doing a fair bit o' shooting. I was worried that the shooting would make me want to hunt again and cause an internal conflict within myself, but it hasn't happened yet  . How you been my good buddy? Livin' life to the fullest? | ||

That actually sounds pretty durn good Charlie. Few things are better in life than sittin' on the deck in the evening with 95% humidity and skeeters eating you up, whilst smoking a good ole' stogie. I envy you a bit  . | ||

It was indeed fun Charlie. Everytime I got a "5" I'd just turn for the most difficult line. The gent who won the Intermediate group is Pate Keen and will be 80 in a week or so. He had 4 points to my 63! No broken bike or NUTS. | ||

There is a lot of skill required in this...be patient. There are things you can't see yet...but you will. Watch him closely and say...why did he do that and one day you will know. You can't approach this one balls to the wall. | ||

Charlie, the past two days have been unbelievably beautiful. 70 degrees, low humidity and calm winds. And I've had to work. Got two motorbikes in the shop and neither one is operational. The trialer is getting suspension serviced(it was really bad) and my newly acquired 400 thumper(traded the big KTM and lotsa cash) is in need of a petcock and a thorough going through. S'posed to go for a squirrel hunt with the Honkster this week. Full update at 11, stay tuned. MotoGP this morning at 8am! | ||

I'm still kicking Charlie. Been a great Spring thus far. Just finished up with Jr. Varsity and Varsity ball. Lots of shooting and plenty of riding. Basically, all the fun stuff that isn't available down your way . My two best friends  Can you get your bike this close to the sky  ?  Nuttles, Had a delightfully good opening day. Saw a boatload of squacks and managed to get one shy of a limit. Got hemmed up for about 45 minutes with two doe who wondered in and decided to feed 40 yards from me, I plan on going most of this week provided the weather cooperates so just let me know and we'll hit the Havens. | ||

Charlie, You got the tick part right for sure. Done pulled 5 of them mutha's off already. No snakes but I did see a cute little fawn bedded down not 25 yards from my stand this evening. Little thing musta' just been born and probably didn't weigh 25 pounds soaking wet. Watched it for literally 3 hours while waiting for the tree rats to show. Unfortunately the wind kept them hemmed up so I only got one shot off tonight. The good news, I added one more to the freezer. The bad news, I definitely ain't ever deer hunting again. They have a bad habit of bedding down right where I decide to hunt and making me feel sorry for them. Glad you enjoyed the pics and I feel honored to be able to be the one to make you homesick ! Nuts, I didn't check my phone until I was in the woods. You're getting bad as me for giving advance notice. Let's shoot for Thursday if you're up to the task. Nuts, You'd get a massive kick outta watch Ole' Burly shooting skeet. Something very wrong about a portly man trying to dance around in a dainty manner. I thought about becoming a Prepper but the food gave me the runs. I figured I'd prolly die of dehydration before starvation so I'm just stocking up on water and pork rinds. Might not make it long but them salty snacks sure are good. Charlie, I'm just busting Nut's chops. I've always admired the fact that he can wade through my rambling crap, pull out the humor, and throw it back at me without blinking an eye. Most people would wanna punch me in the face but he just smiles and dishes it right back out. He's a good man and the verbal sparring matches in jest is one of the reasons why I miss spending quality time with him. | ||
