Hi Bob, thanks! Yes, see you at MMP!

Hey Robert! Well, no, they're not on yet. Haven't gotten with Jeff yet to get that done...I need to though. I did get the locks in, so that's a start. I've been eyeballing those pegs, but the $115 is a bit much for me right now. You know I'm retiring soon! 55 days! Once I get the invite made up, I'll post it on here for you guys. : )

Merry Christmas friends!

Almost done with my shift, was a pretty quiet night. Had the midnight mass on the tv for myself and any of the "clients" that were interested in watching it; it made for a nice intro to the day. I hope everyone is well and having a pleasant holiday.

Well, its almost time to start changing oil & pulling some simple maintenance on the Buellcati and get ready for some riding. Again this year, just trying to get as much time on the road as possible. Way too old to do any racing at Millers but not too old to watch some good riders doing just that. Always highly enjoyable and I'll try and join anybody who does.

Anything new in bikes or changes to your bike for this year? I'm so very satisfied with mine it'll be just routine maintenance and riding more.

Looking forward to Karen and I doing some preliminary canyon running in the cage to check out snow levels about April 15th or so....depending on the weather, naturally and I'll report back. Mild winter so far so lets hope it continues until spring. Stay safe all and LETS RIDE!

Well, been pretty busy lately. My retirement ceremony is NEXT Friday, 10 Feb, at 1400 at the Hill Aerospace Museum Fighter gallery. Come on out if you can make it!

I'm lovin life on my BMW. Got over 4K miles on her already and I've got a nice long retirement ride planned for March. Here to Key West, FL and back via the long way. : ) Should be a good time!

Hope you all are doing well! I'll see you on the streets or at Miller next summer! : )

Sounds like you have been really busy Kerri. The end of a great career and the beginning of a new adventure and maybe a new career also. Looks like maybe some further education is in the near future for you via your FB posts. You going to be at Daytona for bike week races and who will you be cheering for if you do, BMW and/or Buell? Should be a great year for AMA racing. Stay real safe, have fun and enjoy your "long way back".
And we WILL see you on the road somewhere this summer. Godspeed, Bob

Kerri, that's exciting news. I may be able to ride up for a little bit. My daughter's birthday party is also Friday so we'll see.

What's the proper dress for the ceremony?

The more the merrier! Bring your daughter along! We'll have cake and brownies! : ) Dress is casual.

Congrats on the retirement Kerri! I wish we could have made it. The house is still full of screaming nine year old girls, so I'm trapped.

I hope everyone is well.

I've finally reassembled my XB after needing to do the rocker boxes, they were leaking bad enough to shut down the fan. Rode it across town to help my dad with a car today and it is stalling out at anything much over a cracked throttle, she idles awesome though! Wondering if it needs a tps reset from having the battery out for so long, or maybe from running it out of gas today... sigh... I don't know why I'm even trying to think about it with these kids making all this noise!

How about those guys at EBR? An outstanding weekend at Daytona with some mechanical problems on the new 1190RS but a respectable 6th and 9th for Geoff and Danny at the hardest (on engines) track of the whole season. Looks like they will do well this year and be running "up front" with the million dollar+ teams. Good to have a new sponsor with Hero coming aboard and some good money to help Erik along.

It'll be great to see them run at MMP this year and my tickets are in hand. Might even get Kerri out to watch the Beemers which are also doing well. Lets try and have a a small meet out there this year as we did two years ago. I'll be there just Monday for all the final races. Try and make it. Details later as we see who can go.

And lets not forget our street riding, Monte and Wolf creek are already calling.

Stay safe all and watch for my scouting trip of both places soon as the snow melts off. Below, Wolf creek last year on Apr 29th. Hopefully sooner this year.

Tuedsay, Apr 24th, as promised I checked out Wolf Creek pass today in the cage and its open.

The roadbed was dry and in good condition. One more asphalt repair since last year but fairly smooth. Not much snow along the shoulders so hardly any runoff across the road. But, quite a bit of loose pea gravel along the shoulders and outside the white lines and in a few places some small pieces of broken asphalt in the center right at the yellow dividing line. All in all quite good and should make for some great riding this year. Gotta go soon. As usual, a nice meal at Hanna cafe and a good trip back. Pictures below. Hope to see some of you out riding this year. Stay well and stay safe, Bob

Thanks for the update Bob! I rode this for the first time last year and really enjoyed it. This year I will have to stop and have a bite to eat, I have heard the cafe in Hanna is great.

Welcome aboard Rhett, haven't seen you before but glad to have you with us. Yes, the Hanna cafe is pretty good with mostly home made eats and just right for the return back over that beautiful pass. Hard to keep the speeds down though to enjoy the scenery. Stay safe bud.

Thanks for the welcome. If you haven't seen me here before its because i didn't know your guys were here! It was littlebuggles that showed me over here.
I am down in Springville. I used to ride with two other guys here that had Buell's, then one of them got rear ended pretty badly and so they switched to trial bikes. So, its really good to know that all of your guys are out there!

After the great showing for EBR at Sears Point/Infineon with two podiums, is anybody going to be, with me, at Millers Memorial day weekend? I'll be there just Monday for all the finals and cheering on all the EBR riders and staff with at least a couple of visits to the paddock area and EBR pit to talk to Erik and all the Elves as we usually try and do. Last years picture below. Erik is a true gentleman. Lets all try and make it in support. Bob

I hope to make it out Monday as well. Have you got general grandstand tickets? It may just be me, not the wife and kid, and dog, so I'll be looking for friends to hang out with.

Mike, Karen and I do have general grandstand tickets and will be using the Grantsville grandstand right by Oasis 1 so we're close to visiting the paddock area and EBR's pit. A nice place to see all the action and great seeing the racers come down the front stretch near 190 and braking for turn one. With binoculars you can see around the whole track. We usually see Erik and the boys about 11:00am. Hope we see you there.

I haven't been up any canyons yet this year, all my seat time has been commuting and errand running, still it's good to be out riding.

Anyone have any canyon experience yet this season? Bob, thanks for checking out Wolf Creek.

So last year I mentioned the XB would stink up the garage with fuel smells after riding it. I rebuilt the fuel pump trying to resolve a fueling issue and since then the bike no longer stinks of gas after a ride. Cool huh? New o-rings and gaskets and such seem to have resolved that.

So for you XB/1125 guys, if you notice that smell after riding, consider a pump rebuild during your down time.

I was at the Sandy BMW/Triumph dealer a couple weeks ago and have to admit that F800GS is a great looking bike. I can see why Kerri had to have it. I will probably sell the Super TT this year and once I've got some extra cash I'll be looking toward a Tiger XC or maybe the Beemer. Gotta keep one Buell in the garage though so will hang on to the M2 for the time being.

I'm putting in some OT hours so hope to have the cash for an ART class or track day, anything to get on the track this year would be great, I miss it like crazy.

I hope everyone is well, this section has been pretty dead lately. Take care all.

Bob, still trying to work out the weekend plans with my wife. We will see.

Mike, I can't tell you how much I love this bike. I got it in Aug and I have just over 13K miles on her. Rode from here to Key West, FL then to Santa Monica/Malibu, CA and back without a single issue. Well, I need new tires, but that's a given! : )

Since I'm retired now, I can't afford to do any Apex days for a bit. I do have a ton of USBA credit so Mike, I might be able to help you out with an ART. If you can sort out which date you want, I'll see if I can help you out with that. : ) Just let me know!

I'm teaching Motorcycle Safety Classes downtown Ogden now, so if you know anyone who wants to learn or who might need a refresher, tell them to check out www.utridered.com. : )

I got a call from one of the Mike's with EBR the other week to let me know they're in town, so I went down to MMP to check it out. It was the Cycle World magazine shoot. Eric Bostrom was there riding the new 1190RS along with a few other street and exotic bikes. I tell ya what...that is one sexy machine! It is beautiful! If I had a spare $44K sitting around (it was the CF version), I'd snap that thing up in a heartbeat! ESPECIALLY since they fixed the damn stator issue. : )

Hopefully I'll see you guys down at MMP on the Monday of Memorial Day weekend. If you see me before I see you, yell at me!

Ride safe, y'all! : )

Oh I think Monte is supposed to open up this weekend. I predict a lot of sand/grit, so be careful! Old Snowbasin is closed indefinitely from what I hear...too much road damage from last year that just got worse over the winter.

Drove Monte Christo Rt. 39 to Randolph yesterday and it was fine. Quite a few sportbikes and many others going good. Very little dirt/sand/gravel. Below Ant Flat road is still the same as last year and as of yesterday no new tar snakes. From there to the Cache/Rich county line is also the same as last year. Some snow on the shoulders still lingering along the highest places but I'm sure that will be gone in a few days and no wet spots across the roadbed. Whats real nice is a newly surfaced (pea gravel/oil) stretch from the county line for about 10 miles east that went on just before winter last year and is right now smooth and very grippy. Gotta try that soon. One small road repair with asphalt near Curtis creek road but its only a foot wide from shoulder to shoulder and doesn't pose a problem, fairly smooth.
One word of caution though; cagers & RV's seem to pull right out of the lower campgrounds without much warning so maybe take it a little easy through that section especially on the weekends All in all a nice ride in the cage and a good burger and fries at Gators. Now it s time to ride it. YA!

Well I dont know how many of you are south of the point of the mountain but I took the bike up Nebo Loop yesterday. You can make it to the Utah lake lookout but the gate is locked just up from there. There is a lot of gravel on the road, especially on the two 180 degree turns and right before you get to the lookout point. So I had to be pretty careful on some of the turns. It also got pretty chilly but I only saw one patch of snow so its pretty good riding.

Rhett, sounds like it should be open soon. Sand, gravel and even dust can be pretty treacherous at times so I usually like to do a test ride first in the Sport Ute to see how a road is. That is a nice ride. I don't know if you know about Johnsons pass from south of Tooele over to Skull valley, SR 199, the old Mormon trail, but its one I really like and do occasionally. Its great for a first ride in the spring and a last ride in the fall. Its not too high but real fun on a bike and its mostly rural. I found out about it from Robert Polster (Saxon59), a Utah Bueller on our site from Tooele. Thanks for a heads up on Nebo. You going to be at MMP for the races next weekend? Bob

"Rode from here to Key West, FL then to Santa Monica/Malibu, CA and back without a single issue." See, now hopefully Chuck has read some of this since he's in the market for a Uly replacement. Sounds like a killer bike. Thank you for the offer on the credits! I'll see what's going to work for my schedule and get with you on that. You gonna be at the races with your RV Kerri?

Rhett, that's good to know, Alpine loop is a nice ride. Maybe we can meet up for the loop in a few weeks, last time I was up there we crashed a new guy. Didn't know he was a new guy until after the crash...

I've only ridden Immigration and Parleys so far this year, the rest of my riding is straight line commuting. Parleys was only part way (also for work) and coming back from Immigration (which is nice during the middle of the day, middle of the week), and is fine. I hope to get up Big Cottonwood tomorrow and maybe over to East as well, depending on how early I get out. Gotta work tomorrow night so probably riding in the morning.

I've never ridden Monte, or Johnson's Pass so if you guys have an itch to ride and want a buddy let me know, I can comfortably adapt to most levels except stupid fast. I'm working this weekend but am off Monday through Thurs next week. Bought Chuck's clutch spring compressor so may have the Cyclone in a little better state next week too. I hope replacing the clutch will resolve most of it's transmission woes. Thinking of getting the gears back-cut. Russ said it made his tranny pretty smooth, sounds like a nice upgrade to the tractor like shifting I have now (yes, I've also driven a tractor, they just don't handle like a Buell).

Hey guys,

Just wanted to say hi as a new local Buell owner. Littlebuggles turned me onto the group. Glad to see a local presence here for rides / support. I am aboard an 06 Uly at the present time. Have really enjoyed the bike since I got it. I came across from the cruiser world looking for a little more adventure than the cruiser was offering me. I will keep checking in for any rides, etc, with everyone and hope to meet some of you in the not to distant future.

Cheers,

Jeff

Well without anyone being definite I think I'm going to have to skip it. Can't get tickets for the whole family and don't want to be a third wheel. Bob, no sleight intended, you've got your wife for company. I'll just spend the day with my girls, got family in the ground in Salt Lake, Ogden, and South East ID, might make a daytrip of visiting them.

If anyone has gotten tickets let me know, my plans are still flexible but it seems like we are all short of funds this year. I hope E.B.R. does well.

Jeff, welcome to the Utah Buellers section. Be nice to meet up for a ride. I want to get out in the dirt more this year. 'Bout ready to put a new set of Scorpion Sync's on the TT.

Welcome Jeff! Is it an orange Uly? Were you on I-15 heading north around 5:30-6:00 pm today? I went past a guy on one.
