Nice. Hopefully a moderator can move this up with the rest of the events at the top?

Not sure where I'll stay yet, but I've got that Friday off from work. Might just camp depending on the weather.

Pimp the site all you want! Going to be buying my own domain name tomorrow, it'd be nice if I could make enough cash to just pay for that.

A lot of the Hudson Valley guys seemed interested, plus I know we have a few Buellers in my area and also in New England.

I put some of this info on my website so folks can find it easy. I will update as we get more info and I get more time.
http://www.allseasonrider.com/adk-buell-rally.html

Dave - what do you think about this? Seems like we should come up with a place to meet for dinner on Friday since I'm guessing that's when most people will be getting into town.

Sat am we meet at the Fort, decide what we're doing that day and head out, then meet at a pre-determined time and place for dinner and after-dinner shenanigans. I'm thinking we'll have a pre-determined route or two and folks will be free to join or head off to explore on their own if they wish.

Sun am is the same as Saturday, except we'll plan for a lunch spot as people will likely want head back home not long after that.

Perhaps we can come decide on lunch/dinner places before hand so people straggling in can meet up?

Brilliant!!!!!!
As for dinner Friday night there is a restaurant on 9N that has the biggest cukoo clock in the world has some nice chow, A taste of Poland on Canada street, and a nice steakhouse as well but the Adirondack brew pub would be my choice they actually have really good chow.

Gonna add some things to do when not riding:
http://www.fwhmuseum.com
There are boat and jet ski rentals along the lake. There are bars and eateries along the lake in the village as well. There is para sailing.
About 15 minutes up the lake on 9N is Bolton Landing where once again eateries pubs and trinket shops are everywhere.
Schroon lake is about 45 minutes away and worth a look.
Perhaps someone can get a ride mapped in that area?

Brum, I was going to throw a couple routes together in google maps and post them for ideas for people as well as have a couple ready to go in my GPS.

I figured you'd want to do the brew pup on Saturday night, no?. What's the name of the place?

For dinner Friday, there's not too bad bad places on Canada street I've eaten at aside from the Mexican place - overpriced and just bad food. Not familiar with the coo coo clock joint... we can do that.

Is anyone else coming? Kinda looks like it's going to be me and you, haha.

EDIT - I added some route ideas to the website:

I am from Schroon lake 30 miles from lake george you should ride up whiteface mt not quite mt washington but cool. Also a cool ride just across the lake in VT. Goes over the MT to mad river glenn. Some real peg dragging turns. Some nicer rides up in the mt areas.

Deant - one of the routes I put together does the Whiteface summit. I haven't been up it since I was a kid. From where I live (Troy) it's tough to get up that far on a day ride.

When you mentioned crossing into VT, you talking about Rt. 17? That's a fantastic road.

Looks like a real decent list of guys. We're going to want to make sure we set up places for dinners with groups that large. I sent emails to the ADK Brewery (they look to have pretty stringent rules about large groups, check the website) and also to Smokey Joes. I'm trying to keep it to places in the village so no one has to go far after dinner in case people want to have a few. I'm open to suggestions from anyone as well - the places I typically eat are pretty small. There's an Italian joint, but I'd be worried about suggesting it with all these Jersey boys coming, haha. We can decide if we want to branch out at all for Pumpernickles (the German joint) or there are some good places a little south on 9N as well.

I posted a couple of routes on my website as well. One is about 6.5 hours up to Lake Placid, another is 5.5 hours and does Sacandaga and Rt. 10, then two short routes that do the good parts of Sacandaga and Schroon Lake. I just added one for VT, about 6 hours.

If we have 20-30 people coming we'll need to make sure we're at least kind of organized. I put together a tentative itinerary on the website as well, let me know what you think.

I'll suggest a good ride for you guys .....one of my favorite roads in the 'dacks take 87 to exit 29 take a left off the exit that will put you on boreas road .........I refer to this as blue ridge road but its very scenic, twisty and for the most part traffic-less ....the road can lead you a bunch of different places or can take back roads which can loop you back to lake george.....you can check it out on google maps ...its a great area to ride ...just watch for deer.. the road up to mad river glenn is insanely fun in vt!

best of luck

Third week in May, can you say Blackflies?

I could be in....too far out to commit with scheduling, but I'll keep my eye on the thread.

I know some great roads up there, even some dirty ones if that's on the wish list. I will definitely camp somewhere.

Oh, Man. I'm a new Bueller, and I live just a few hours away, and I love the Lake George region, and....DAMN! Of all the weeks in the year, that's when I'm going to be out of town on vacation! I can't believe it. I am really interested in meeting a bunch of other Buell guys and checking out their bikes.

May-August may be the full "season", but typically the streams reach the right temperature at the end of May. So for for a few weeks you hit peak B.F. swarmage. July-August punkies(no-seeums) and deer flies rule.

Either way, none of these pests fly as fast as the Uly.....

My son and I went up Whiteface last year on our bike trip. We then shot over To NH and went up Mt Washington.
The road in VT is Rt17. When you go up white face shoot over to the Essex ferry then down 7 to 17 over the mountain to 100 down 100 to 4 then 4 back to NY and the 22 back to lake George.
Watch that one corner on the boreas not bad going up but when coming back down it can pucker the backside if you forget it.
Ill have to try and make it.
If you are from Troy you most likely at one time or another have crossed paths with my middle son. He rides a 2004 lightning. Two of my sons live and work down there.
Anything you guys need let me know. I also can find a truck to pick up any bikes that have problems. My entire family rides.

I'm in, although exact timing will vary. Deant, I find better riding on your side of Champlain. Rt17 is pretty much impassable even in the cage. Road is split and heaved, the culverts leaving a huge bump every corner entrance or exit. Rt 4 got damaged badly in Irene. Rt 100 went missing several spots in between. One of my favorite rides in the empire state runs from your neck of the woods rt 9 back to rt 22 to Moriah thru a swamp. Is that back to normal?

I havent been over the VT roads Since the Hurricane. Too bad they are torn up. There are two roads that go from Rt9 to Moriah. We call them the North Hudson Rd and Moriad Rd. Not the right names. I like the one from North Hudson over but the one from Exit 30 i87 is nice also.(have had a few close calls with deer on those roads) I hit one with the 84 fxst. Killed the deer and didnt go down. That has slowed me down over the years. I never lack for a decent ride close by. When my son was home (before college) we went for a rip almost every night.

The road in VT is Rt17. When you go up white face shoot over to the Essex ferry then down 7 to 17 over the mountain to 100 down 100 to 4 then 4 back to NY and the 22 back to lake George.

That's more or less the route I laid out, except instead of running 100 all the way to 4, I made a zig zag that takes 125 back east, the 7 and 53 south, 73 back west to 100, then 9L to get into Lake George.

I haven't ridden 17 in a few years, so I have no idea how the pavement is, but if Vtpeg says it's all beat up we may make a last minute call on that route until we can verify the road conditions.

the one from Exit 30 i87 is nice also
That's Tracey Rd, which last I knew got beat up from the hurricane as well, but I haven't been on it lately to verify.

There is a North Hudson rd that goes into Moriah - haven't ridden it (to my knowledge) so I'll try to check it out before the event.

I've added the VT and Tracy road routes to the event webpage, check them out and let me know if these are the areas you guys were thinking. If not I can easily change.

I know the area reasonably well, but not as well as others so I don't want to "take over" the route planning.

Nice work on the maps Mark. The roads in VT are all passable, but not suited much for spirited riding. Rt 17 didn't take too much of a storm beating, but the last few winters the frost heaved the road and it never settled. Some of RT 100 is actually better now that they have replaced it, but some of the patches are down right dangerous. The east side of Rt 125 has some sections that never have been paved since Irene, although the west side was new and had only a little damage. Rt 4 & 73 received major damage, as did those areas of rt 100. I Havn't been through since the storm, but thats where people were stranded for a few days. I live only 3 miles from 17, and would be happy to bird dog any of the said routes say a week prior to the event. They are all passable now, but I wouldn't bet on the patches of last fall making thru the winter well, and there will be road construction in the riding season. That shouldn't take away from the scenic value. I have also riden alot between Lakes George and Placid and would be happy to scout those routes this spring.

Got on your site good job on the routes. The other road from North hudson is the Ensign pond rd. Similar to Tracy rd maybe a bit more backwoods. Once the sand is off the roads I can check out any routes as needed also. I travel thhese roads all the time to work my camp and just for bike rides. I wouldnt be any good at leading rides as i am not very fast. i make up for it by stopping as little as possible.

I don't think too many people have booked rooms, yet. I've listed a couple options on my website, most are all in the same vicinity (as in just about next door).
http://www.allseasonrider.com/adk-buell-rally.html

I was originally thinking about camping, but there's a joint with rooms for $49/night and two beds, thinking of grabbing that and rooming with someone and it will be just as cheap.
