Dyna to bad you didn't make it.It was a good time.Best part was seeing some guy out of Michigan do a stoppie a measured 794 ft.There was one XB12 there that was there to perform but we didn't see it ever come out.In the back of the lot low and behold a 2005 XB12R in blue and amber.Have to say in my opinion I didn't like it but maybe it will grow on me.It had MFG plates on it so it was a HD employee.

Bads and rocket,
wish you guys could have hung out just a little longer. After all the "competition" had finished they opened up the track to all the pro teams to free ride (all at the same time). It was nonstop insanity for about 45 min or so. Seems these guys pull out the bag good of tricks when the judges aren't looking. lots of frame slider useage goin on, some 50cc action, lots of burnouts, donuts. one rider even found a new use for frame sliders. I don't think it has even been named yet. Lay the bike on it's side using the frame slider as a pivot point, climb on top of the bike, start slow to make is start spinning in place on the slider, pop it into second, pin it, and hang on as long as you can. Two riders tried it. first guy did quite well. The second guy got the bike spinning so fast it flung him like booger. It was nonstop laughs. Oh and rocket was right... lots of "inspired" spectators left the grove on one wheel and a few tapping the rev limiters LOL.

Happy Sunday, July 18, 2004

Will I just finished riding in my first charity event, Rid For Kids.
I first missed my pre-assigned place in the first group to leave due to someone not being at the gate to direct the employees from Allstate to the correct staging area. By the time I discovered where I was supposed to be, I found myself parked in the land of no return.

Second I could not find the only white X1 in the lot (Land of no return) when it was time to ride, well I didn’t look in the middle.

So we ride.

Third my tank is not a 5Gal. I had to stop and dump 2 gallons in at a station at 137 & 45. And Yet I still was able to jumped back in the pack long before the tail end.

I heard Ukes riders raised over 3K. Also I saw a few Ukes T shirts. Over all, the riders raised more than $380+ Thousand dollars. I got that warm feeling.

Well I just stopped off to say thank for invitation to join. I have a new boss that believes he owns my life. So I don’t think I will be able to stop in. At least, not until I find different employer. Hopefully around our neck of the woods..

I hope you all had a great weekend

Hey Newguy. Remember the frame slider project you were taking about? Check out ebay. There are a couple XB frames for sale. One has a reserve, but one doesn't. Right now its at $50.00. I think we just found your mold. Later.

wELCOME!
Just back from a busy weekend at the track!
Friday, practice, out for 2nd 20min session and brakes go Bad: (
Tried to repair, no luck: (
Contacted Kegels HD/Buell Which took me right in and repaired and re safety wired my bike: ): )
Sat race1, finished 9 out of 18, started near the back, felt great!
Sunday race 1, 2nd row start, running 4 out of turn 1, then swapping 5-7 midrace.
Then going into turn 1 belly pan drops on one side, scared the crap out of me and I backed off a bit.
Dragged belly pan to a 11 place finnish out of 20.
Repair bellypan, Race #2, 9 place finnish.
race #3, 5 place, which will give me my 2nd plaque for the wall!!: ): )
This was one of the biggest turnouts for ccs, all races were very full! lots of fun with lots of new experiences! Next race weekend will be Sept 18-19, come and spend the weekend with us!
See ya later!

So I am finally on this message board...whew..I drug my feet for quite some time and just decided to do it today. Hi to all. I missed the last meeting in June but want to go on the House on the Rock Run...can anyone tell me about it...and if anyone's riding when and where...I am up for some more riding. See everyone in a couple of weeks.

One more thing...at the May meeting I was talking with a few of you about a muffler/chip modification for my XB. Any insight into that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

So, I had an idea for our next meeting – actually, two ideas, so I needed to lay dawn and rest for a bit afterwards

Idea the first – we meet at the same old time, same old place, get on our bikes and go for a ride! Howzzat for radical?

It’s occurred to me that one of the strengths of the chapter is the wide range of folks we’ve got – grizzled vets (like, oh, Johnny Mikosh, right? {grin}), and folks with mere months on two wheels.

Once of the side-affects of that is widely varying speeds at which riders are comfortable. I’ve notice on a couple of group rides that some folks are yawning in their helmets, while others are pounding down the road, hanging on so hard their knuckles are white – no fun.

I know everyone isn’t looking to lap Road America at Homeric speeds, but one thing that seems to link most riders is a desire to learn and improve their skills

Which leads me to, wait for it,

Idea the second (you knew I’d get to the point, dincha?) – I suggest that those who wish can sit for 15/20 minutes, and we can talk about lines through corners, why you should care, ways not to loose momentum (ya don’t have to accelerate if you don’t brake, yes?) and generally how to improve the control you have over your bike ( I can easily remember thinking I was riding a rocket over which I exerted no control whatsoever, and managed to get home through good luck and a benevolent diety).

After our conversation, we can ride the same route as the fast-movers, have the theories demonstrated, and, once we get to the destination, talk about what we learned and practiced.

Please don’t misunderstand – I’m no Keith Code, nor Freddy Spenser (my racing days ended due to the fact that I simply wasn’t very good), but I’m an OK street rider, I’ve survived, I think I’ve learned one or two things, and earned my paycheck by teaching technical subjects (back when I earned an honest living.

So – any takers?

I'll gladly follow along either group, but I'll be on 4 wheels, bike is set up for track now and don't want to mess with it before our track day,(even though I need to make a new mount for the muffler: (, mount new/old rubber) which happens to be the day after our meeting. Also, Might be fun to ride bitch on huggers bike, but I don't think she'll take to that: )
